Hi, Has anyone found the "light bricks" to be of bright enough intensity to be useful as "homing beacons" on robots? I understand that they can be attached to an RCX output port much like a motor, and that their intensity can be controlled in much (...) (27 years ago, 15-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics)

IIRC color 43 trans-dark cyan works pretty well in POV. That is the color I originally used for my car windshields when I first started using Ldraw, but then I stopped because I liked color 41 better in Ldraw. Ryan nice, pics, btw. ***...*** REPLY (...) (27 years ago, 15-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad)

One manufacturer of such a device is Fascinating Electronics of Oregon. They make a device that hooks to your serial port, you send it "commands" and it answers. Dave, I like the finite coltrol of the motors myself but can understand the request. It may encourage the "younger" programmers to use the language. Yes Chris, Unfortunately the 1x3x2 window only came in the 7760 Train Set, so that's a double whammy (only one set had them, and that set was a train system set). Stylistically it is neat. And it's a cool design exercise. However it pretty clearly violates trade dress IMHO. So I vote for a variant on the first one. Perhaps putting studs on some faces of the bricks the way LUGNET did? (...)
