  Re: Sproket is Science Fantasy!

Re: LEGO 9V Train Communication III

(...) Anche a me ispirano questi treni! Anche io ho "alcuni" RCX che volevo dedicare agli scambi e ai semafori.! Penso che lo svilupperò ugualmente! Giuliano (17 years ago, 27-Mar-08, to lugnet.org.it.itlug)

  Re: New primitives?

(...) Mathematics to use 1-8tdisk is easy, divide the width by 0.707 and height by 0.293 (1-(sqrt(2)/2) to get size of the tdisk. Move the center accordingly. Yes I have used that trick several times, using regular disc/ndis primitives, inlining (...) (17 years ago, 27-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad)

RCX Code Programming and Bot Samples?

I've been away a long while. How are RCXs currenlty programmed? I used a C type program before and I liked it a lot, is that still used? Also, is there a good central site for RCX bot builds? Thanks! Rich ___...___ Be a better friend, newshound, and (...) (17 years ago, 27-Mar-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: New Press Release about Power Function Trains

I agree that the lack of traction is still one of the biggest hindrances to the new system. My latest trains (to be revealed at BrickWorld) have eight of the new RC-type wheels that are all powered, yet they barely get any traction! Has anyone tried (...)   Re: LPub 4 Status

(...) Thanks guys for all the help. I grabbed BrickSmith and moved the ldraw folder that came with it to /Library. I wanted both anyhow so it seemed to be the way to go. Then I built a new (universal?) ldglite with your static libpng and some (...) (17 years ago, 27-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dev, FTX)

(...) Thanks for the feedback, Bob! If you enjoyed the Sombrero, you may like to have a look at my other recent amusement park ride, the (URL) Ghost Train>: (URL) (...) I'll see what I can do.   Re: New Press Release about Power Function Trains

(...) I was thinking of switching to radio control. From what I've read regarding IR systems, it should be straight forward to to modify LEGO IR transmitters and receivers to work with small radio modules. Converting them to transmit the unmodulated (...) (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New primitives?

(...) I agree with you in all points. But if I see that also you are thinking that capped cylinders are useful maybe there is somebody out who can write a prog for that. I have tried something similar in the past and was not very happy with the (...) (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: New Press Release about Power Function Trains

(...) Even if it's a different firmware version of the IR link that does not have a timeout feature - that would be an intersting stop-gap. Ralph (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New primitives?

(...) I think I can follow your thoughts. Have you tried that (48/1-8tdisc) already in some items with different curvatures? If yes and you have found out that this can also be used without dramatically mathematics (I prefer to use triangles so I (...) (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New Press Release about Power Function Trains

(...) The nice thing is that the IRLink is a module by itself and there is nothing preventing LEGO from making a module that accepts radio signals in the future. Probably, I'd end up suggesting Bluetooth or Zigbee over Wifi, or even a proprietary (...) (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Inappropriate(?) use of stud.dat in 30035.dat

(...) You are right, but there are only three lines of code (easily created with MLCad) that would be substituted with such a new primitive. I think it is not worth. cu mikeheide (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Inappropriate(?) use of stud.dat in 30035.dat

  Re: Logo ideas

(...) Snipped, wow Rob, these are great. I have a few others that have been submitted so Im going to add them all to one file, and then as a group we can decide which logo we will go with. Thank you, and if you have anymore ideas, please keep (...) (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.org.ca.obb, FTX)

  Re: New primitives?

(...) I would use the cylinder as model, with the cap at Y=0 on top and an edge at bottom. But I somehow agree with Steve Bliss that it may be overkill if we decline capped cylinder in all angles... Philo (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: New Press Release about Power Function Trains

(...) I agree that IR is not ideal for all the reasons previously listed. I hope WiFi is a consideration for a later release. Line of site controlers just are not practical for large layouts but I would guess we will find a way to manage. The (...) (17 years ago, 26-Mar-08, to lugnet.trains)
