Re: How big is the hobby and how big can it be?

When I think of the state of Lego AFOLdom, I realize there are more of us than there were science fiction fans in 1939. Having sat at those guys' knees and listened to their stories and realizing how small their network was, I couldn't help compare (...) (19 years ago, 27-Jan-07, to lugnet.general)

Re: New Electrical Connectors ( LEGO --> Please, please read )

One more thing to add to this list, an Electro-magnetic Coil would be really cool part. Perhaps you could release a larger Crawler Crane using the new track links of course with an Electromagnetic Coil instead of a hook. Something like this: (URL) (...)   How big is the hobby and how big can it be?

The other day I found myself pondering a few things: How big is the AFOL community? And perhaps more interestingly, why is it the size that it is? I started thinking about this with all the discussion about LEGO conferences and shows being put on. (...) (19 years ago, 27-Jan-07, to lugnet.general)

  SOMA Puzzle Cubes

I'm certainly not the first AFOL to build SOMA puzzle cubes out of LEGO, but it was a fun project. I built cubes using both a 2 x 2 module and 4 x 4 module. It was fun to experiment with different ways to build the alternating color versions. (URL) (...) (19 years ago, 27-Jan-07, to lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)
