I am planning on starting this contest later in the year. But, if it goes as I hope, I will hold contests on all sorts of subjects, one after the other, with a lead up time to let people know what contests are coming, and what the deadlines are. (...) With much respect, I would suggest that CRC8 is probably not sufficient, especially if we go for a broadcast (Ethernet) solution, where lots of collisions, and hence errors, will probably occur - with CRC8 you will probably miss about 1 in 256 (...) My response would be to drop the mindstorm software. I hated it cause those red blocks won't let me put 2 in a program unless I use command blocks and even then it ticked me off. Also I would do NQC, GPB, or VB instead, far better than the mindstorm (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)
