Re: Droid Developer Kit is $25?

(...) If you're a *really* big fan of white parts, you might regard this sale as sufficient proof that there is, in fact, a God ;-) If not, it's still at least "a good deal": there are some interesting and uncommon Technic parts in it (not all of (...)   Re: MUGs attending STUDfest 2001.1 in NSW

I'm happy to delay the next MUGS gathering if everyone else is. The Australia day long weekend would be far more convenient for travelling. Ben, Paul, Ross, Martin, what do you all think? I'll actually be in Sydney on the weekend on the 17th/18th (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Re: Damped Shock Question?

This is (almost) exactly the way it worked for me. There is a simple difference though, there is no Lego Turkey yet, so mines are direct from Denmark..:-) TLC people were all too nice and kind throughout the process, they were incredibly quick to (...)   Stop the 8 Wide Insanity!

Okay, I am going to cease and desist on the topic of 8 wide, maybe forever, if all you naysayers would just consider this: -8 wide is no different in scale than 6 wide-- same minifig, same track. -8 wide is plain and simply 6 wide plus a row of 1xs (...)   Re: Hypothetically Speaking...

(...) Hmmm... I'm going to come down on the other side from most of the posts in this thread. I'd really like to see Lego produce some 8 wide train models. Personally, I build in 6, 7 or 8 wide. I mix and match them on the same train and I don't (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Serial reception problems

I seem to have problems send data from the Handyboard. When I start IC and download the pcode, the handyboard seems to receive it just fine (the LED flickers). And I monitored the transmission pin with an oscilloscope and it seems to send just fine. (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Znap's 200th message.!..

(...) Because it was never meant to be sold in North America. It only showed up in TRU because they needed to dispose of an extremely large inventory of extra sets, so they did what they often do with leftover European sets.. sell it to a US chain (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.znap)

Re: Scale - it's all in the aspect ratio

(...) Careful with your vocabulary. The word "gauge" specifically refers to the distance between the rails. I think you mean "scale". (...) Good way IMO to determine scale. We know that proto is 4' 8 1/2" and so it's easy to figure out. (...) (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Markslegoland has new inventory

Hi all, Here's another shameless plug for my store. I've added a bunch of odds and ends, and a few sets. Take a look, you may find that one part you're missing to finish the latest project. Happy building, Mark (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: WTB/WTT4 Pneumatic tubing connectors 8868/8443

  Re: New Track radius question

(...) I believe you mean 40 studs... You would want to increase the radius in 2.5" increments (8 studs) so that a semi-circle will still measure out to equal a set number of straight tracks. The current curve will form a circle that is as wide as 5 (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

With all this talk of new LUGs....

I'm sitting here having serious thoughts and concerns about why GMLUG is so big geographically. To reach what for the most part is the central-most major city(Chicago) youre looking at a drive time of up to 7 hours if you live in Minneapolis. It (...)   Droid Developer Kit is $25?

I just visited my loacl walmart and saw 40 or so Droid Developer Kits for $24.99. Two questions. Is this set worth $25? Is this a nation wide sale (meaning the investment in parting it up would not be worth it). Let me know what you think. Matt (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: End of 9V train line?!

But I believe the RCX-story is the reason why Lego has problems now, in Austria the RCX-sets are sold very good, but they are not used by the children, but by theire parents! So it could imagine that the target-group of people are adults in this (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Sugestions and Requests.

In the report dialog there is a checkbox to enable the parts-per-step report. If this is not checked you will receive a report over the complete model. I'll check that in the file-report as well - (I'm not sure here) Is it ok, that MLCad takes care (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: BYFMTWW: Bring Your Favorite Minifig To Work Week

Scale - it's all in the aspect ratio

So, I have been reading posts and thinking about tight curves vs large layouts vs long train cars... here's some thoughts to react to... There seems to be several ways to skin this cat. You can determine gauge by starting with: 1) Rail width 2) Rail (...) (24 years ago, 11-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)
