From the little X programming (and no GTK) I have done the only way I can think of is set up a event call back (I believe GTK calls them signals) for the Press and Release of the CTRL key, and use this callback to toggle a flag somewhere. I would like to announce the release of version 0.6 of RCX.pm. This perl module allows you to communicate with your RCX. I managed to find a small collection of 12V Solenoid valves. I have been working on trying to get them to work with the RCX Brick. The voltage output of the Brick is pretty low.
