Very interesting news! It raises all sorts of interesting questions. Besides the WWII vehicles/weapons issue already brought up, and the question of how these sets will deal with the swastika symbol so ubiquitous to the 1st and 3rd Indy movies, here is what I am wondering:

Now that LEGO has moved away from its all-minifigs-are-yellow policy for their movie licenses, “white people” are depicted with pink minifigs, and “black people” are depicted with brown minifigs, but what will LEGO do for depicting Asian people (Shanghai scene in Temple of Doom), Indians (rest of Temple of Doom), South Americans (opening of Raiders), and Arabs (Raiders)?

Will each get their own new appropriate realistic skin tone? Will some be lumped in as “white” (ie. pink) and other “black (ie. brown)? Or will LEGO not-so-subtlety dodge these issues by not avoiding making minifigs for significant characters that would force this issue (as they did with Lando and Mace for so long in the Star Wars line)?

And of course: will there be an official LEGO Hitler minifig?

We shall see.

P.S. New element watch: if that CG Indy minifig is an accurate representation of the final product, looks like we’ve got a new minifig whip, and new minifig hat, and a first-of-its-kind over-the-shoulder minifig accessory: the satchel.
