    Pirate Tree House —Jon Furman
Hello all! My Pirates have constructed a tree house! (URL) Click Here For Pics: (URL) They’ve hoisted the pieces from some wrecked ships up into three large trees. The Captain’s cabin serves as the main storage, while various platforms, huts, and (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !!

Re: Pirate Tree House —Bruce Hietbrink
Hey Jon, Long time no see, welcome back. Arr, this be a great MOC, matey (though shouldn't you be busy making Minas Tirith? ;) ). I love the incorporation of ship elements, and the use of tan rounds really looks like they used bamboo to make the (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Jon Furman
Hey Bruce, How is it going for you? I hope you are doing well. It has been a while since my last MOC posting, but I've been lurking and posting here and there. I had a lot of problems with lighting and sharpness during the picture taking (I'm not a (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Richie Dulin
(...) Ahoy! Nice work! It reminds me of the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse (now Tarzan's treehouse, I believe) at Disneyland - whimsical, but also believable. You've achieved a good tropical feel (great choice of foliage for the trees), and I love (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Jon Furman
(...) Thanks for the compliments Richie. I was just down in CA during the Holiday and I must admit that I did take a lot of inspiration from the Tarzan Treehouse (it certainly was much more detailed when it was SFR). Especially the Ship's bow as an (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Johannes Koehler
Hello! This is so cool! Looking at your MOC I instantly got the feeling I was in a Monkey-Islandish cartoon scene. Very atmospheric, very detailed and of course very skillfully built. Well, I wouldn't have expected the opposite. :-) I didn't even (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Jon Furman
(...) Thanks for your kind words Jojo. The praise of the praiseworthy is the most satisfying sort! I did fret a bit over the black trees but figured that if they were good enough for the forestmen, then they would work for the pirates. I can't (...)          Re: Pirate Tree House —Johannes Koehler
Hello! (...) How could I possibly not! It's the most hilarious computer game I ever played. In fact it's the last and only game still worthy being plaid. It was IIRC released about 1990, the time when LEGO Pirates were pretty new on the market and (...) (19 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Gil Shaw
(...) Oh hey...that's a lot of fun! Great meshing of the galleon bits into the structure. How you've also interspersed the levels to give it a nice flow from section to section. I love the placement of the figs 'in action' as well...really captures (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Jon Furman
(...) Wouldn't it be awesome for TLC to make more of those catalogs and Idea books. As a child I would stare at those and dream about what I would do if I had that many bricks. Thanks again for the complements Gil. Jon (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Stephen Fisher
I haven't posted in awhile, but this MOC made me sit up and grin (even at 5am) :) Favorite parts: - iron winches - deck-style fencing - tree leaves (palm-style) - crow's nest (awesome!) Keep up the great work - better to post gold periodically than (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Jon Furman
(...) Stephen, Thanks for your compliments, I really struggled as to whether to include the crows nest, I was nervous it would be a little too much. I'm really glad you enjoyed that bit! Jon (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Adrian Drake
(...) Now that is neat! Reminds me of the glory days of Pirates, when we'd get nifty little playsets like this: [LEGOSet 6270] This was always one of my favorite pirate sets. Very cool, and very playable too. Adrian (URL) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Jon Furman
(...) Adrian, I was wondering if you could tell me more about the baseplate in this set? Do you have it, and if so What size is it? Is this the only set to utilize it? Jon (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Peter F. Guenther
(...) I imagine you've already checked out (URL) I loved this set too... I waited eight months in high school to get this after seeing it in the beginning-of-the-year catalog, and then waiting for a Target sale. It's a 32x32 baseplate with a few (...)           Re: Pirate Tree House —Adrian Drake
(...) Yours is grey? Fascinating. Mine is blue, through and through. Adrian (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Peter F. Guenther
(...) Indeed: (URL) That's probably why I thought it had been in more than one set... I've seen the all-blue variant from the collection of some GameLUG member in an Evil Stevie's game and just assumed it was from a different set. I think I've seen (...)           Re: Pirate Tree House —Frank Filz
(...) As far as I am aware, there is only one set using this baseplate. There is a Paradisa set with a somewhat similar plate. I have this baseplate in both grey and blue, all have the white dots, though on some the dots have faded somewhat. Frank (...) (19 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Adrian Drake
(...) Sure. It looks a little like this: (URL) This is, as far as I know, the only set in which it comes. It is a 32x32 blue baseplate with the sand pattern and some little white starter dots for the first few steps of the build. And yes, I do own (...)          Re: Pirate Tree House —Johannes Koehler
Hello! (...) I too think 6270 is the only set with this baseplate. There is a similiar (not the same!) baseplate in Paradisa set 6414 "Dolphin Point": (URL) (19 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Jason Spears
(...) Good work, Jon. I was a big fan of SFR as a kid and now you've got me wanting to go watch it again. Also, I've wanted to make a village in the trees but always wimped out, worrying about having enough parts to make the massive trees. But your (...)          Re: Pirate Tree House —Jon Furman
(...) Jason, great to hear from you again, I hope you are doing well. Thanks for noticing the broken rail, it's always a question of how broken in should things be, so I figured that it would be pretty damaged after the hoist. Thanks again! Jon (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Thomas Main
(...) This is fantastic!!! I love the color scheme - the brown and tan just go so well together and the black works nicely for the trees (making the brown/tan stand out even more). What is the color of the 1 x 1 cylinder bricks by the windows - is (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Jon Furman
What is the color of the 1 x 1 cylinder bricks by the (...) Hey Thomas That earthy brown colored cylinder is from the Quality Quidditch supplies set. It isn't the "new bluish brown", but it is a color I really like and am trying to incorporate into (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Pirate Tree House —Matt Doyle
How much? haha. I really want to own this as a set. Amazing work! any chance we get some instructions for this one? (19 years ago, 14-Jan-05, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)
