Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

(...) Well, actually, that's not really the secret ending. Won't say any more. Finish the books, and you'll see what I mean. (...) Yep, it'll be different. But maybe it won't be juniorized. (nah) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

  Re: Is this a possibility?...

(...) That's a great idea!!!! One member of each Lego group should appoint a member to be responsible for this (Title of Position: internal and external relations officer). This concept has applications for national trading as well. I live in (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.year.2000, lugnet.general)

Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

Also, a main reason for the perhaps "targeted age bracket" of book>4 could have something to do with the fact there's a death of a boy, age 17, (...) Thanks for giving away the secret ending. Here I am in the middle of the third book, looking (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

Re: Harry Potter LEGO- what happened?

(...) Well, actually, he was 10 (turning 11) in the first book and 14 in the fourth. Also, a main reason for the perhaps "targeted age bracket" of book 4 could have something to do with the fact there's a death of a boy, age 17, at the end. It'll be (...)   Anybody seen these?

Huw Millington mentioned a couple of days ago that there were three new LoM sets. Has anyone actually seen them in stores? Kevin P.S. Check out BrickSet for photos. (24 years ago, 5-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: Go to Toys 'R' Us for 2001 Legos!

(...) TRU's all over seem to have had a strong showing so far. I know the one I've been to has all 7 new Studios sets and 7 new LOM (everything in the catalog but the biggest one.) More soon we hope.... John #388 (24 years ago, 3-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Go to Toys 'R' Us for 2001 Legos!

I haven't actually been there yet (I plan to go tomorrow) but I called Toys R Us today and asked if they had the "Life on Mars" Lego sets (knowing that even if they did have other new ones those would be the easiest to find out about), and the clerk (...)   Re: My thoughts on the 2001 sets (Life on Mars and LEGO Studios)

(...) The grip is in the Studio sets, not the Life on Mars sets.... GDR :-) While it would have been nice if they had come up with some other way to do the Martians, I think they actually look decent. They really don't look that mechanical (any more (...)   Re: My thoughts on the 2001 sets (Life on Mars and LEGO Studios)

(...) My only grip (And it's a very small one) is that the arms and body of the aliens are robotic like and the head and legs are all soft and swishy... (...) In regards to the latter, who doesn't! Those two sets are great! Quantity time! Dean -- (...) (24 years ago, 3-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 2001 instruction manual marketing

In the 8448 manual, if I am not mistaken, there are 'plugs' for other models Adam "Dan Boger" <dan@peeron.com> wrote in message news:20001202143633....xif.com... (...) catalog (...) before (...) instruction (...) years (...) (24 years ago, 3-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: 3 more LoM sets

(...) They have piece counts (around 35 each) on the boxes, so it looks like these will be available in North America as well. -- Tim Buchheim (24 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

  Re: 2001 instruction manual marketing

(...) I thought this was done before - didn't the Expert Builder sets come with ad pages in the instructions? FUT lugnet.year.2001 (24 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

  3 more LoM sets

Three small sets are shown in this month's edition of the UK "Adventures!" kids comic: (URL) will be available "from LEGO shops and at www.lego.com" Huw (24 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: There WILL Be african-american figures in 2001?!? (or will they? 2002?)

(...) No, I really doubt that. The sets for 2001 will be based on the movie, which is purely HP and the Sorceror's/Philosopher's Stone. So it doesn't get into the second book, let alone the fourth. And even if Angelina appears in the movie as a very (...) (24 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

  Deja Vu 2002

Dear Lego... Any chance of taking advantage of the year 2002, "Ice Planet 2002" rereleased? Or even just making available Ice Planet parts in some (sub)theme? Cool white and transparent orange pieces perchance? [F-ups set to (...) (24 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.space, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: There WILL Be african-american figures in 2001?!? (or will they? 2002?)

Assuming the movies are successful, that Angelina is protrayed the same way in a movie, and (...) (24 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.year.2002)

There WILL Be african-american figures in 2001?!? (or will they? 2002?)

In the fourth Harry Potter book (The Goblet Of Fire), it clearly states and I quote: "A tall black girl who played chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, Angelina came over to them,". Angelina is mentioned multiple times, so she will probably (...) (24 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.announce)

  2001 instruction manual marketing

Who else has noticed that the 2001 instruction manuals now include catalog page type plugs for the new product lines? They've never done that before have they? That will lend an interesting obsolescent feel to instruction manuals as they age. I (...) (24 years ago, 2-Dec-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

  2001 Technic sets found

I may have missed a post on this, however I found two Technic (2001) sets at my TRU today. In addition to LoM and Movie sets. The numbers were 8240 Slammer Stunt Bike 14.99 8241 Battle Cars 9.99 The battle cars appear to be part of a new line that (...)   Re: Do we have a name for the new figs?

I am talking about a name for the whole class of figs, which would include martians, battle droids, and whatever else Lego comes out with in the future that uses this construction style. (...) I'm OK with the look of the (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.year.2001)
