You miss the point. I am talking about a name for the whole class of figs,
which would include martians, battle droids, and whatever else Lego comes
out with in the future that uses this construction style.

I'm OK with the look of the figure overall, though I like the Battle Droids
better in terms of both the head and the legs.
My main complaint, which is why all my name suggestions revolved around how
lame the figs are, is the mechanics.
Compare them to minifigs:
* The wrists don't rotate- and further, the angle at which they are fixed
is the wrong angle for many minifig accessories. Even constructing the
arm piece so that the two claws were 90 degrees off would greatly improve
this aspect.
* The legs, as pointed out in another post, are fused.
* The legs won't stick to studs in a sitting position, thus requiring you
to attach the figures to vehicles in more "creative" ways.
* The head doesn't swivel.
* On the figures made so far, the head is all an integrated piece in the
sense that you can't take one face and swap it with another hat or other
headgear.
And, of course, there is the fundamental issue that they /aren't/ actual
minifigs. This means that the whole range of existing minifig body parts
are mostly not interchangeable. You can't personalize a figure by swapping
out heads, legs, differently- printed torsos, etc. This alone doesn't
completely damn the concept, as believable aliens could be cool- but when
you combine it with the fact that they are inferior in almost every other
way (all but price), you end up with a really crappy substitute for minifigs.
Side note on the martian sets- the T3 Trike is an absolutely awesome set.
It is by far the coolest thing I've seen Lego come up with in a very long
time. This gives me much hope. Note that I'm not including the Star Wars
sets in that comparison, as licensed products are a whole different ballgame.
