You also bought 6763 (the re-release version of Rapid River Villiage), so
this means you also, like me, started to collect the Western sets in the
past year but not when the theme was first released in 1996?

Oh, I mistook the number.  I had the original version, but I bought it used
about a year ago, before the rerelease came out.

Really interested to see how you combined 6763 with the castles. Do you have
it on the net?

Many of the pieces from that set, especially the BURPs (Big Ugly Rock Piles)
and the plant pieces are useful in every theme.  I've used a lot, for
instance, in my project recreating Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.  My main
page is here:
http://www.chem.ucla.edu/~bnh/
and an instance of this use is here:
http://www.chem.ucla.edu/~bnh/lotr/lotrplaces01-01.html

I only have a very small place to put up my
construction. And whenever I want to construct a new set, I have to demolish
to old one which I am very reluctant to do so.

That's always a tough decision.  I'm more likely to tear something down once
I've taken a lot of pictures and/or shown it off to my friends, but there
are some models I'm so happy with that I haven't taken apart yet.  I have a
limited number of bricks, though, so almost all of my creations have to come
apart before I can build something new.

Anyway I am going to create some MOC this summer and intend to post it on
web, will update all you Western fans then.

Looking forward to them.

P.S. "Frontier Patrols(cavalry builders)" do you mean those blue solidiers
in the Fort Legoredo set?

I meant this set:
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/6706
I'd like to get a few of these to build up my army of cavalry soldiers.

Hello Bruce, There is recently a warehouse sale in the Hong Kong Lego distributor. And following your idea, I've also bought 5 sets of 6706 Frontier Patrols in order to build up my army!!!! I think this set is really good for enlarging one's army, 3 (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.western)
