NCLUG is planning on participating in a GATS show here in Raleigh next summer. I received the information packet in the mail yesterday and I have a couple of questions for those of you who have done this before. Can someone articulate what "Contest (...) I may well be a unique voice within PNLTC but one never knows..... Actually, PNLTC is nearly 30 members now and thus many opinions are represented. We concur on many issues. Btw, I view it as currently convenient to model 6- wides (maybe it's the (...) (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains.org)

The advantage I was thinking of them basically doing a joint thing is that it would be more attractive to purists since it would now basically have TLC's blessing (and probably say (...) Howabout an uncoupling ramp to go with the Kadee couplers (hey, I want nothing less than the best for couplers, if were going to go non-LEGO there, let's do it right). (...) Cool! If you have any 4.5V or 12V stuff, you might want to bring it and do 10-15 minutes on the history of LEGO trains. I'd also bring any recent stock trains that you have, and some MOCs. A funny thing happened while I was reading this thread. I got a call from the local chapter of the NMRA, the SER-Piedmont Division. They called and asked if I would do a workshop/presentation on LEGO trains at their December meeting. I thought that (...) (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains.org)

(...) No matter what TLC does, if a third party manufacturer stepped in with a quality product, I would abandon purity in a minute. I don't think I'm the only one either. I think track, wheels, and couplers are the area most ripe for non-TLC (...) (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.trains.org)
