Re: Lego Train Club in Missouri/Kansas

Sorry I have been out on vacation and busy with the baby. (Interestingly he is already asking for Lego’s and at only 2 weeks old.) I am very willing to help start up a LUG or LTC or both. It has been my ambition to show St. Louis and Missouri what (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jan-02, to lugnet.loc.us.ks, lugnet.loc.us.mo, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: SCLTC@GATS Images on Website!

I'm glad you like our inaugural layout. It was designed to be something simple that we could get up in a hurry for display, but after we somehow never got in to our first show we had more time to add details and improvements. My dad designed and (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

Thanks for the compliment on the shay. I am planning to take a few more pictures of it tonight and post them brickshelf along with a some info on the engine. Keep on working on your 6 wide, I can't wait to see it. (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: NGLTC pictures from Atlanta GATS 2002

(...) For shame;-) Another great show for the NGLTC JT! The Railracers are ingenious-- kudos again to you. Now, about that 8 wide thing...;-) What fun you'll have with the Floridians-- we'll miss you all at BricksWest! -John (23 years ago, 21-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: NGLTC pictures from Atlanta GATS 2002

(...) I love that Coke filling station. And all layouts get better the more "normal" suburb houses are around (in comparison to TLC city where only a few car repairs, police and fire stations have been - of course that incomplete city line has been (...)   Re: NGLTC pictures from Atlanta GATS 2002

The shay was made by Lewis Valentine, and yes it does work. The only problem was that our layout wasn't 8wide compatible, so I guess we'll have to work on that in the future.....maybe :) See ya in a few weeks, jt (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: NGLTC pictures from Atlanta GATS 2002

Great work once again! Can't wait to see some of it in Jacksonville Feb 2-3! Love that shay, who made it, does it work? I am working on a 6 wide version, hope to finish it soon. But, it does not look so good... Build on... Robin Werner Greater (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org)

NGLTC pictures from Atlanta GATS 2002

The North Georgia LEGO Train Club (NGLTC) displayed for the fourth year at the Atlanta Great American Train Show. This show was packed, there was a huge line a half-hour before the show was supposed to start, they ended up opening early. I don’t (...)   Re: More Loops at shows...

<snip> (...) I know that the NGLTC (not to step on toes, James) has some that I thought were hilarious when I joined NGLTC a few months ago. -Sometimes, on a little side track, there is a damsel tied to the tracks with a man in black and a top hat (...)   Re: SCLTC@GATS Images on Website!

(...) Wonderful layout! Most areas were densely populated with little things going on all over- it's great to see all those figs, and every one doing something. As for specifics, I particularly love the university, the brick trees, and that killer (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)

  Re: SCLTC@GATS Images on Website!

Well, I finally got around to checking out the SCLTC pics. Wow. Really nice. A little frustrating to navigate, but excellent detail and overview shots. Some things I particularly noticed and liked: The rope stanchions around the layout. Very sharp. (...) (23 years ago, 18-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, lugnet.trains)

  Re: More Loops at shows...

(...) A few months ago when a class of 5th graders visited my home, I created a scavenger hunt of several things to look for in my home layout. It removes some of the impromptu "Oh, look at that", but certainly gave the kids a sense of (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: More Loops at shows...

(...) Yes- some bits that stand out at the moment in my mind (I can't mention them all!) are: a fairy blessing a rock monster in a cave a window washer rescue where the washer guy is hanging by a rope from his mobile scaffold construction worker (...)   Re: More Loops at shows...

(...) Yes. And even static things can be eye candy... Little jokes like the landspeeder parked at the info booth, and little more somber tableax like the firemans funeral, or the pirate skeleton below the lighthouse rocks are all crowd pleasers. (...)   Re: We Did It!

(...) I've been up in the tower here in Vancouver a few years back. I'd guess right now that they probably wouldn't let any members of the public up there with the new security mesaures. The elevator ride up is bland (no windows), in fact it was to (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc)
