| | LMC - update
|
| The LMC (LEGO Man Cave) is coming along nicely. I have all the walls built and installed (save one small one). 250" of electrical wire pulled, 20 outlets & 4 switches. Garage door opener installed and clearence worked out. Next steps: hang the door (...) (13 years ago, 22-Feb-12, to lugnet.trains)

| | Worn Tyres and Rusty Rails
|
| Jake, please would you put in a request for replacement train motor tyres to be made available separately, so that I can replace ones that have worn down through normal use. I suggest a pack of eight, and I will buy quite a few packs since I have (...) (20 years ago, 21-Sep-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego, lugnet.trains)

| (...) On a closely related topic, here's a circuit diagram for an RCX output booster. Put one of these on each RCX output that you want to use to drive a train or a more powerful motor (RCC motor?) | (...) Hi Ed, Thanks, glad you like the design. If you count the number of posts I've made about DCC in the forums, you'll see I'm pretty excited, too! :-) It's hit-or-miss when using the full 9V when operating the switches. Sometimes it holds (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-04, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

| | Re: The newer magnets... // "Photos or it didn't happen."
|
| (...) Thanks for showing off the "guts". I had a chance to try out the new magnets last weekend at the alleged train show in Portland with my Maersk train pulling about 5 cars on the layout. In real life, on a 45 degree "S" curve after a wide 90 (...) (13 years ago, 1-Mar-12, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

| | Re: Reversing Loop without Insulated Tracks
|
| (...) Many of us are more interested in the trains running (remember that the name of the group, after all, is not lugnet.electrical). The electrical stuff is just a way to get trains to do their thing, in my view and hence, less interesting. Others (...) (20 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.trains)

| | Roundy Roundy
|
| Most people and groups seem to go for 'roundy roundy' track plans. For exhibitions this makes sense as trains can be kept moving without too much effort. However most people who have put trackplans or pics of their home layouts on Brickshelf also (...) (20 years ago, 27-Jul-04, to lugnet.trains)

I am toying with an idea, where I want to print the foundations of a (highly detailed, possibly fractal) landscape on a 3D printer, and then only use LEGO for the "top-soil". It (...)
