| | Re: Train motors half price via S@H weekly special
|
| (...) Hi all! At the TSL event in Berlin there came up rumors the todays 9V train line would be shut down. And that there would come up a new train system with RC driven trains. I would guess, if that would come true, the trains would run on pure (...) (19 years ago, 3-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) 95% are standard Lego train 9V buffer beams (or the new snowplough buffers on some locomotives). Some models (mostly my space trains) use 2x3 plate-with-hole pieces to hold the magnet clip. In one case I used space magnet clips, but that was (...) (19 years ago, 1-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains)

In fact the fans in the SF Bay Area (now BAYLUG) had a privet Email list at the time that spun off the rec.toys list. (...) They big advantage (...) (19 years ago, 17-May-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

|
| (...) Was there a Lego community in 1991? I can see a lot of advantages in the change: 1. Better pick-up of power through the wheels on the inner edge of the track. Sprung contacts like on 12V trains are prone to wear and spark damage. 2. One-piece (...) (19 years ago, 17-May-05, to lugnet.trains)
