Hi Bryan,

Nice that the transatlantical interchanges on the biggest hobby ever go both
ways! Your read 1000steine and it's galleries - I myself read and post on
lugnet and have regular updated brickshelf galleries! BTW: Thanks for the nice
comments on my LEGO Desert Express (http://news.lugnet.com/trains/?n=8811) and
the highlighting! It's TOP STORY on lugnet - Great!
Ben is right saying we are 2 years back in internet-exchange for german AFOLs
but we are hard working on it. I rediscovered my LEGO hobby after seeing many
nice homepages from all over the world. That let me know: You are not alone -
so I went out bought some Star Wars, second hand trains, .... many more and
start building again! The next step will be the big train meeting in Ben-Town
(Braunscheig) just after X-Mas. Ca. 50 persons said they might come!!!
A shame that not many germans post at lugnet.trains - for technical discussion
(How to build ...?) or showing and discusing new MOC's lugnet.train is THE
POINT to meet!! News will be available for longer time, because lugnet is split
up into many themes (which was confusing in the beginning!). The german forum
is like a rush hour for all themes at the same time - if you miss it some days
you might go to the archive to look up the latest train informations. That'S
confusing a bit having everythng in one single forum. But a smaller earthquake
in summer ended up rejoing the shortly theme-splitted 1000steine forums
together again. I don't know what is better? Deep specific information like the
lugnet supgroups or general news like 1000steine? For me it's simple: I read
and post in both: lugnet.trains and sometimes .build and .technic AND the
1000steine (means 1000bricks) -forum.
Anyway - keep on bricking, train building and building up a worldwide fan
comunity!!
Holger ...from Germany!

| Ben, Thanks for giving me the whole picture! I recall your original posting in lugnet.trains about the points issue, so I figured the 1000steine forum message I found was part of the larger "points & crossings picture." Early 2001 should prove to be (...) (24 years ago, 20-Dec-00, to lugnet.trains)
