  UK Reddifest Train Layout

From humble beginnings... Amongst the pictures of the recent LegoFest held by a small group of AFOLs in the UK are several of a train layout with some custom trains and stations. (...) Yes, at this stage it was just one crocodile engine pulling the lot. Later, more wagons got added and another engine was placed at the rear. Then the crocodile was given a rest and replaced with another at the front. The length of the train (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) I'm glad we got photos of that, 10 of those hoppers are mine, I've been waiting to put them behind the Crocodile engine for weeks - I think it looks the most suitable loco for hopper. (...) Yep this was because we had reached the maximum (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: UK Reddifest Train Layout

(...) That blue 4.5V track was mine, I never managed to complete building a layout - it didn't run very fast either, it didn't like having my MOC wagons on it which used the old 4-stud train wheels from an earlier set (yet to be reconstructed). I (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: UK Reddifest Train Layout

(...) That large station rocks! The paired station tracks with the large platforms are neato. The platforms may be a bit wide, but using the large pieces is the only way to go, the mind boggles at the number of gray plates and bricks that would be (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: UK Reddifest Train Layout

(...) The brits did all kinds of things...islands, and ones on both sides. "my" station in OO had 2 platforms, one for each track (Long Marton, S&C). A lot of the terminuses had 2 tracks side by side, then platform, so only one side of the train (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: UK Reddifest Train Layout

(...) Platform plates are the main issue. Making several platforms run the length of a metroliner is tough. But I keep searching them out. Many of the ones at the fest were contributed by the group. The station is work in progress. I will keep (...) (25 years ago, 17-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)
