Mike,
Nice work, a bit big don't you think? Anyway, I was actually writing about
the curve straight-track corners. I set up curved-straight track corners once.
I was trying to enlarge the radius to cut down on high speed derailing, but
what I found was that the repeating curve, straight, curve, etc. layout
actually shook the trains off the track at a lower speed. It was as thought the
period of the inverted pendulum, a.k.a. the train, was the same as the periodic
straight, curve switch. Thus, when the train hit the next curve it was on its
outward rock/swing and jumped the track more easily. OK, true a 76 stud long
engine is not going to be swinging around like the smaller cars, but the engine
will be pulling smaller cars.
By the way, anyone else noticed this behavior, or is it just me.

P.S. I thought about modeling this one, but didn't because of the colors, and
the size. I need to work up to a monster like a DD40.
P.P.S. Oh oh oh railing....how are you going to do the railing. I am having
dificulties with railings. I have been using technic axles but they are to
thick. PLEASE come up with good railing.
