step in the right direction, overall I've found LDD to be a complete

  I agree with you. I find the LEGO Factory experience to be somewhat
frustrating. [...]  For example, I
uploaded the four hoppers listed above, but only two of them were
approved. I suspect than since the bufferless and buffered versions are
such close copies they were assumed to be duplicates or knockoffs and
only one hopper and one covered hopper were approved. But a situation
that is even more confusing is this one...

I think I figured out the boxcar problem. I tried submitting my box car
one more time, and this time I called it "Old Boxcar". It is now
available in the gallery. I suspect that it got rejected because I named
it "Millyard Boxcar". Since the Millyard is a LEGO (and others) project,
LEGO might not want people using that phrase. At least, that is the only
reason I can think of.
