Another apect I was recently thinking about is where tracks usually cross baseplates. For instance, is it "easier" to get a straight section right next to the edge of a 32x32 baseplate, or six studs away? Or eight? Or... what? Does this always have (...) Unless you have many spaced around your layout, you're not gonna be able to control the trains at every point on the layout. That may not be a problem - if (...) Also if the RCX is NOT directly powering the trains then the RCX 1.0 (with AC jack) isn't manditory. I would love to see the IR train be controled by the RCX. Yes, the new crane car is quite nice and I look forward to adding it to my collection. Another thing that has been looked over with the new sets is the part selection. Mike Walsh posted a link on the ILTCO list which has a much cleaner image. (URL) It appears that the dummy engine on the ICE train is 6 studs shorter then the working engine. The new trains are already good - remote control, sound, cheap track, reverse loop capabilities, cab control etc. so the change to 9v rail powered (...) (...) How accurately? If you want to do this for a bunch of cycles, it would seem to me you need to control the position of the train quite exactly. I'm hung up on the idea of making the pushers look like cargo loaders of some sort though (fork-lifts maybe?). My thinking was to build two of these (...) Hi all! I also saw the new train system during our show in Frechen/Germany last weekend. I'd like to add some more information. - The motor has the same size then the normal 9V train motor. Lately I have been rather impressed with the bold steps that TLC had been making lately -- Mindstorms NXT being one, the Vikings line is cool and so on. I am also convinced that the adult market is big enough for TLC to be concerned and it shows in (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)
