Re: New MOCs: town vehicles and a tie crane for train

(...) (snip) (...) Thank you James! Even if many of these features are not really my ideas! ;-) Pierre (22 years ago, 30-Mar-03, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)

  Re: 100-Ton Hopper Cars

(...) When you get a chance, can you post some closeup photos, and/or description about how you achieved this effect? Jake --- Jake McKee Webmaster - B.I. Portal (URL) (22 years ago, 30-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Q: 4512 and 4511 (was: Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!)

Something that I just noticed is that the 4512 locomotive truly looks like it resembles set 4564's engine. Is this the same engine only different colors and a different removable top? And, 4511 has some strange lights on the front of the engine. The (...) (22 years ago, 30-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 100-Ton Hopper Cars

Thanks Stefan, I tinkered around with making the wheels larger but then they interfered with the dumping bays. Adding a spring to the wheels also made them look much larger and out of proportion with the rest of the car especially when I pushed the (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 100-Ton Hopper Cars

Thanks Larry, I personally like the minifg level shot as well. The pics with cars on tracks were taken at Robert Powell's house so that train poster is the same one seen in his news paper article posted on ILTCO. B. (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 0-4-0 Switcher

I posted a quick CAD pic to my gallery to show what I'm saying. They should look about the right size on your model. (URL) the "prototype", look at the pilot in this pic: (URL) steps are actually on those little struts, but the pilot on your steamer (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 100-Ton Hopper Cars

Really nice design. The ribs especially are really spiffy, and the green really brings out the detail. I agree with your comment about the wheels. Other than that, cool car. -Stefan- (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Origin of these printed bricks?

(...) The site states that the Basel / Genova / Hamburg printed bricks are very rare (though I guess the Glasgow / Manchester / London ones will be equally rare outside the UK). Bif (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 100-Ton Hopper Cars

(...) Hey, nice work... I like how you managed to get the ribs daintier by going sideways. I think this shot: (URL) is my fave for two reasons.... minifig eye view (looking up a bit) is always a cool angle... AND you've got the train poster in the (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

  100-Ton Hopper Cars

Greatings, I recently completed a MOC of 100-Ton Hopper car. I modeled it after a "Proto 1000 Series" HO scale kit I borrowed from my brother. I wasn't able to get the ribbing to line up in the middle of the car and I think the wheels could benefit (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains) !

Re: Q? 4512 Buffer (was: Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!)

(...) Me either. My other concern with the click hinges is that they wear out. There is abrading that happens every time you move them. While this is true for any part that has moving surfaces in contact, it's especially bad with these. Some of my (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Q? 4512 Buffer (was: Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!)

Wow, I think your right! And I think their at both ends of the loco? The buffers do look square, look at the same image, way down at the bottom... the image of the roof popping off the loco, I think it has square buffers! It looks to be a new train (...)   Re: Q? 4512 Buffer (was: Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!)

(...) Another interesting one I noticed. Apparently in LEGOworld people are really tall. Notice the 11 1/3 M clearance label on the crane? I'm pretty sure the clearance is 11 bricks and one plate... So therefore, 1 brick height equals 1 M. Or maybe (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Q? 4512 Buffer (was: Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!)

(...) Ya, me too. They do that a lot, don't they, label the obvious? Wouldn't want any minifig passengers thinking these containers are deluxe accomodations by mistake... (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Box Art for 2003 LEGO Train Products!

(...) I think this is overreacting. Larry's just as entitled to respond from his perspective as is anyone else. And yeah, it might grate when he gets more info than the rest of us, but if it wasn't for ILTCO we wouldn't have these pictures at all! (...) (22 years ago, 28-Mar-03, to lugnet.trains)
