Round parts on the side of ... (was Re: LEGO SW Haildire Droid will cost....

(...) What is that big round thing on each side? Are those gear teeth? Do we maybe have what trainheads need to make a rotary dump without a lot of trouble? (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.trains)

  Re: 2003 Trains - great!

(...) Interesting... It looks like the two new train sets just come with a couple straight tracks each. I think this may be a good idea. I think most people who have bought a few LEGO train sets in the past, each with it's own basic oval, have found (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 2003 Trains - great!

(...) That's why I think that they do come with a full circle/oval of track, because the boxes don't have a part count, which is typical for US boxes. So, I think that we will see full track with them- probably no points, but a oval again. I'm (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 10017 Mini-Hopper

(...) I've seen it modified into many other things... it's a good starting point, if a bit short, for many different cab/cowl units. MichLTC's Stefan Garcia made a nice ALCO FA using it as a starting point, for instance. (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 2003 Trains - great!

(...) If you look at the bullet train pic, it gives the impression that it does not come with a complete circle of track, at least to me. LEGO has always been careful not to put things that aren't included into their pics. (I am talking about the (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: "Ribbing"

I agree with most of this (...) Wait! I thought that "Challenger 2.0" IS the subject? Isn't this thread about clubs *challenging* each other to do better? :-) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: "Ribbing"

I hope we always keep it friendly! We're all proud (and some are arrogant) about our clubs. That's great - but we should also be proud of OTHER clubs. There are a lot of people that are displaying LEGO trains at various shows, a few hundred at (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 2003 Trains - great!

(...) Oh, I guess "each" means each carton. So the Bullet trains are $180 for two? They come two to a carton also, and both sets say "each". At $90 for the Bullet trains and $140 for the cargo trains, it looks - great! Bert (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)
