Hi Chris,

I also think this is a fantastic idea.  Based on our experiences at Train
Shows, I'm guessing that we could easily sell a couple hundred each time.  Even
a small profit margin makes this pretty durn attractive from a LEGO-club budget
standpoint.  In any case, I'd certainly be happy to help out and contribute in
any way I can.

I have two early-to-mid 20th century steam engines I'd love to contribute as
well.  The BR52 has already been modelled quite closely in LDraw, and I'd love
the excuse to do the BR18:

BR18: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=8403
BR52: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=7086

Given the fact that everybody seems to love the idea, what's the next step?  I
was thinking it might be useful to throw together a no-frills webpage for each
section, and collect submissions for each.  That is, a page full of possible
entries for locomotives, freight, passenger, etc.  That would collect all of
the material together in a single area, and provide a sense of progress :)

Also, it might be useful to specify some format, or suggested elements of a
submission (not all of which may be used ...).  For example, you might suggest
that all submissions include:

(1) DAT or MPD file of model
(2) Clear high-quality photograph(s) of model
(3) Statistics, including: approximate piece count, history of model, history
of model subject, etc
(4) (optional?) photos of model in a layout, as you mentioned (great idea!)

Or maybe that's too rigid :P  I'm just throwing out some ideas!

Anyway, let us know what we can do to help and/or contribute!

Thanks (and great idea!),
Shaun
