You can set the max output voltage from the boosters-its another thing I
haven't done yet, but you can adjust it between 12-20 V via a switch on the
front. I'd assume the decoders burn ~1.5-3V internally, but I am not sure.

Then, you should have no problem. The only KEY thing in installing the
decoders is that the motor _MUST_ be completely isolated from the track
power-otherwise, presto poofed decoder.
As for the electric plates, I know I mod'd some in '97 too- I think that great
minds think alike (just like with the firehydrants :)
