  Re: New models

Locomotive: The vents, railing, and stairs are very elegant! I really like the 1/2 stud offset for the 1/4 curved inset blue bricks. Very very nice. Caboose: Everybody who sees my trains asks, "Where's the caboose?" Sigh. You've got nice detail, (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Cargo Sprinter cab window alternate

(...) I didn't look at the Markin photos, so I thought that the Cargo Sprinter was the same size as a regular train. But since you say that these are small trains then OK. As to stumping 8-wide...I think I am a convert. My two latest creations are (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Cargo Sprinter cab window alternate

(...) Chris, 8 wide may be a bit much. The proto and Markin photos make it clear (to me anyway) that the cab width and chassis/frame width are within a very few inches of the container width if not actually exactly the same (which is my guess). (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Cargo Sprinter cab window alternate

(...) I agree with Larry. I kinda like the 6-wide window better. I wonder if an eight wide car with the six wide window and the 1x3x1 red slopes would look even better? With a six wide car I like the six wide window. Chris (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Wheel Car

(...) Hi Tom... The red panel is what happens when you run out of black thinwalls in your sorting bins and sorting through several gallons of unsorted brick is too time consuming on my new limited schedule. :) The wheelsets just pop right out the (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  New models

While I still do not know what will come of the NOLTC[1] I have built the first two pieces. I have done a second version of an EMD SD40-2 and a Caboose. There are some new ideas, and a lot of old ones. I am really happy with the these two pieces. (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Container Width (was Re: New MOC: Cargo Sprinter)

(...) Agreed. However the 4 wides just look funny. They're not even tall enough for a minifig to stand up in, and we know how short those guys are. :-) I'll probably just lump it, but I'll continue to whinge (an OZ word!) about it nonetheless. Would (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Chris, Nice wheel car. What's the red panel? Needs more wheels. Did you damage the wheelset or sideframes when you separated them? "Christopher Tracey" <ctracey@envirolink.org> wrote in message news:39A87BC1.C07748...ink.org... (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  New MOC: Funicular Preview

This is a very preliminary design study of a funicular (proper name?). It is a somewhat parallogram-ish single passenger car for going up a very steep and straight incline (mountain). I'm pretty excited about it, mostly because my wife may get (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Cargo Sprinter cab window alternate

I've posted a picture of an alternate window styling for the Cargo Sprinter cab window. Photo shows side-by-side comparison of "old" and "new" stylings. Care to express an opinion as to which you like better? I like the "new" styling for two (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Container Width (was Re: New MOC: Cargo Sprinter)

Containers are not as wide as trains! Sure, they are close, but with trains being 10' wide, represented as 6 studs, then an 8' wide container should be 4.8 studs wide. If you round it to the nearest stud, then it would be 5 wide by 12long for an HCL (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Old #755 switches remote?
