First draft of the Lego-Modular Train layout standards posted..

The preliminary page for Lego-modular standards is up at: (URL) the near future, I plan to post pictures detailing how the lattice structure is made from 2x4 bricks as well as the optional 2x6 style. Over time, I will document all stages of module (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

(...) As long as the 2 controllers are set to the same 'notch', you will not have any real problem. The motor will get 2x voltage for the period of time that it takes with one set of wheels on one power supply, and the other from the other (not all (...)   Re: Legomodular standards?

In the future, if Lego doesn't come out with DCC or something like it in their 2001 train line, I will be converting my motors over to DCC. The newest line of Digitrax decoders offers a unit that reads back the EMF from the motor and adjusts to (...) (25 years ago, 30-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

How will you handle engines/trains with multiple motors as they cross the transition from one trackset to the other? (...) -- | Tom Stangl, Technical Support Netscape Communications Corp | Please do not associate my personal views with my employer (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: New German Loco: Green DB139 and more

(...) Sorry if the pics took too long to load, Huw. Glad they may be helpful for you to use in your own model. I imagine that my likeness of the DB139 is far enough removed from looking exactly like a real DB139 that it could be claimed for (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

(...) The GMLTC is planning on having two speed regulators for each track around our layout. We'll split the layout electrically, so we can have higher power on the uphill side, and lower power on the downhill side. We really have no idea how our (...)   Re: 3 x 6 train nosepiece

(...) There was a discussion of the train nose parts a while ago, but darned if I can find it. I've tried a bunch of search patterns and failed. (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  3 x 6 train nosepiece

Hey everybody, I've checked the database's and can not find which set or sets the black 3 x 6 train nosepiece can be found in. Anybody know(1), that's willing to enlighten me? Thanx Mark (1) Dumb question since there must be several trainheads that (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

I will modify the doc to state it as a "random pattern" but I noticed a difference between the "splotchy" type and the "fissure" type. I built mine with the fissure type pattern, although sometimes it can look like black lightning. (Would that be (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

(...) Except the 'pattern' is supposed to be fairly random - everyone does it differently. We decided to add the black just to break up the huge expanse of red that we'd otherwise have. So far, no one at any show has noticed the difference between (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

(...) Well, any module that has electrical connections to the track will run them back to the controller area in the module. From there, a controller could be removed and the wire just run to the other controller where multiple layouts are (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Legomodular standards?

Not seeing anything yet, this might have already been covered. But, have you guys addressed electrical inter-operablity between modules? With 10' lego wires avalible from pitsco-dacta, even a parralell bus (to cut down on the electrical resistance (...) (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)
