  Thump, thump, thump...

...is this thing on? Can you hear me back there? Testing 1,2,3, sibilance, sibilance. Hi All! SteveB (13 years ago, 10-Oct-11, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Containers and printing (was Re: I'm bringing sexy back

(...) <snipped> Hi Larry & Rob, (...) I don't know, i don't have the Maersk train yet. The 20-Foot container is 6 x 14 studs + 1 for the opening doors. The 40-Foot container is 6 x 29 studs + 1 for the opening doors. I only hope now that those (...) (13 years ago, 30-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Train set instructions

(...) Instructions are still available! They are on Peeron.com now - just look up the set number and they link to the instructions. I have also had great luck finding instructions to current sets through links on Brickset.com. -Matt :) (13 years ago, 10-Oct-11, to lugnet.trains)

  LEGO Train set instructions

A long time ago in a galaxy... well, anyway, I think Brickshelf had set instructions (is that right or was it Peeron?) and before they took them down I grabbed all the ones I knew about that had anything to do with trains. If anyone wants some or (...) (13 years ago, 10-Oct-11, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Flex Track

(...) We used it extensively in the recent layout by Byggepladen at LEGO Fan Weekend. I am not that fond of it, but we didn't have any incidents, which could be attributed to flex track. I would prefer that we only used it in sections of one or two (...) (13 years ago, 28-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains)

Train layouts (Was: LEGO killed the train club)

(...) Nice. The only thing which disappoints me a little bit with the layout is that it is as flat as Denmark (or maybe even Holland). At the recent LEGO Fan Weekend in Skærbæk, Byggepladen put together a layout with contributions from about 20 (...) (13 years ago, 28-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains)

  Recreating old sets

Hi all It is funny to think, that as a child there were only a few sets I did not get in certain series which I collected. Now, here they (almost) are: (URL) choose to collect the parts from BL and build the sets rather than buy them ready. It is (...)   Re: Next Motion Blur Video is online - How to automatize ImageMagick

Just realised I never sent my response... (...) --SNIP-- Fabulous. If I ever get time to do more 'art' rendering I'll definitely be using this idea. (...) Hehe. Yep :) Glad you got the coverage this excellent animation (and model) deserved. Tim (13 years ago, 6-Oct-11, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Online PAB and Design-by-me needs more parts for Lego Train

I was using Lego Digital Designer and am disappointed the downhill availabilty of certain important parts to build "buyable" models. I would like to see a return of "warehouse" sliding doors to make box cars. Train-style doors would also be nice as (...) (13 years ago, 6-Oct-11, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.trains) !

  Re: Flex Track

(...) Same here: I do not use plastic track on my combined layout (PF running on 9V track) but even when I did I might not use it, since I stay basically with studs in line with my track. In fact the greatest benefit I see is for kids: in general (...) (13 years ago, 27-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Flex Track

(...) Ha ha ha. If I were a rivet counter I wouldn't be building my trains out of LEGO. Cale (13 years ago, 27-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Flex Track

(...) I agree with Tim. I think flex track can be useful for working out some interesting track geometry but beyond that I don't have any use for it. I think the idea of flex track was great and to be honest the LEGO actually came up with a pretty (...) (13 years ago, 27-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: Flex Track

(...) I've never tried it in a layout (I don't have a layout) but I always saw its chief use as being single bits of track here and there to open up the range of shapes in a full layout. Need a tiny bit of straight, use a flex. Need a tiny curve, (...) (13 years ago, 26-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Flex Track

(...) I was thinking of using it with foil tape put on top to make a second, larger radius. But I'm hoping that won't be necessary, soon. My biggest complaint is that the trains run very rough over it... every wheelset jounces at every joints which (...) (13 years ago, 26-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains)

  Flex Track

Do any of you like using this flexible track from LEGO? I just can't bring myself to try it. I haven't seen it in person, but from the pictures I've seen it appears to me to be more geared towards kids than rivet counters like Larry and Cale... :P (...) (13 years ago, 26-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Texas Sate Railroad Palestine Depot

(...) Thanks much! Looking back I should have built it a lot bigger, but I made some design changes to get it to fit on 3 32x32 baseplates to fit inside the Wye I designed for my future Texas State Railroad diorama. I can't take any credit for the (...) (13 years ago, 25-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Texas Sate Railroad Palestine Depot

(...) Thanks Ben! If it wasn't for LDraw I don't think I would have been able to get that roof to work as it does. I plan to do a lot of photography with this one in the future, probably a different shot with each of my TSRR locomotives from (...) (13 years ago, 25-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: I'm bringing sexy back

(...) Well when you build locomotives in the correct width (that would be 8 wide by the way) it takes time. And you can't rush quality. ; ) Cale (13 years ago, 24-Sep-11, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
