Re: Why is inner rail smooth on Duplo track?

(...) The texture is to improve traction. However, without a differential (which have been tried on trains and failed), one wheel on an axle needs to be able to slip in a curve since the rotational speeds are different for the different radii that (...)   NMRA layout poster of group areas

Hello LUGNET members, With just a few days left and unless someone else has made a map of the participating groups for the NMRA Cincinnati show I was going to. I continued my super-micro scale of part of COLTC’s display and made a MLCAD render with (...) (19 years ago, 4-Jul-05, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.events, lugnet.trains.org, FTX)

Why is inner rail smooth on Duplo track?

My son has spend his allowance on a couple of the new Thomas sets (Percy and James). James comes with one piece of curved track (along with others including a switch). I've noticed that all the Duplo track that's come with these sets has a ribbed (...) (19 years ago, 4-Jul-05, to lugnet.duplo, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: New MOC: British Class 37 diesel loco with articulated bogies

(...) Unfortunately, the front and rear windows are in the right place (without quarter-stud offset bricks being available), and moving them would make the upper body too long for the scale! --SNIP-- (...) I meant the side windows are too short. The front/rear look very nice. (...) So that's how you did it. Nice technique. (...)   Re: New MOC: British Class 37 diesel loco with articulated bogies

(...) With the windscreens, did you mean that the side windows are too short or the front and rear windows too narrow? Cab windows are always the hardest part to model. I needed a piece for the front and rear windscreens that would give the division (...) (19 years ago, 3-Jul-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.uk, FTX)

In lugnet.trains, Mark Bellis wrote: SNIP (...) Ah, I finally get to see your bogies. :-D Great design. Smart door design too. I'd steal it were it not for the fact that I like to have interiors in my models. Well done, thanks for sharing. Legoswami (19 years ago, 3-Jul-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: New MOC: British Class 37 diesel loco with articulated bogies
