MichLTC to display at Toy & Hobby Expo 2002

The Michigan LEGO® Train Club will display a 20'x 20' layout, complete with three loops of running trains, a mountain and quarry, a delightful town, a kids play area, and more! The layout is made out of 99.9% LEGO® bricks. When: December 27-29 (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.org.us.michlug, lugnet.loc.us.mi, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.events, lugnet.org)

Model Railroad Display LEGO - Toy & Hobby Expo 2002

I was surprise to read and see a LEGO Train Club mention while I was surfing. I didn't see this mention on LUGNET. From the PRNewswire. A Fantastic Model Railroad Display Chugs Into NOVI, MI. S.E. Michigan For the 'Toy & Hobby Expo 2002,' Dec. (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: DCC and the future

(...) I have very limited knowledge of DCC but in a nutshell my understanding is that with DCC forward on a controller will always make the engine move forwards, right? In order to do this only a LEGO train one needs to modify the train motor, (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.trains)

Ted Michon wrote in message ... (...) This was the thing that grossed out us VLC trainiacs when we were helping with the layout at NWBrickCon, and decided us against using the plastic.   Re: Prolific Upcoming Weekend!

(...) Since several of you singled out this item, I should expand a little. Prior to our 6 week run at SDMRRM, the space we now use was occupied by a hands-on kid play area (not LEGO) and the musuem advertised our upcoming LTC layout. My best guess (...)   Re: DCC and the future

(...) Not at any normal quantity. The market for DCC conversions is rather limited...I'd be more than happy to do them on a order basis, but I am not going to go out of my way to have a stock in hand of converted motors. and I have offered this (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: DCC and the future

(...) Most arguments for and against DCC have been given here in this thread and others before, so I just wanted to mix in with my worst case scenario. (Is the expression 'drawing the devil on the wall' known in English language?) Worst thing that (...) (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.trains)

Finally managed to wrestle a day off and head on over to the Manatee County Civic Center...where Rob Werner had his layout set up, complete with an 'imagination table' where kids big and little could fiddle with bricks. (...) I'm assuming they're supposed to be train wheels given the comment about not having any yet. (...) I agree, if it only has one type of wheel, it isn't a highrailer. Whatever it is though, the model is certainly nice. Frank (22 years ago, 17-Dec-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: MOW vehicle that I posted to Town earlier

(...) Are those little small wheels supposed to be small train wheels or road wheels? If the former, this isn't a highrailer, I don't feel, as highrailers have both road and rail wheels. If the latter, they're awfully small for road wheels. I'd want (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: DCC and the future

(...) They will, but in small steps. From all the talks by Brad Justus and the progress made so far I seriously doubt LEGO will ever do a DCC system. AFOL's are simply too small a market. We'll be lucky to get one or two new pieces of track if you (...) (22 years ago, 16-Dec-02, to lugnet.trains)

If you haven't seen it already, take a look at this MOW vehicle.
