  Re: Help required

In lugnet.trains, Craig Roberts writes: I been using the small white technic belts/rubber bands on the wheels of my 4.5v trains. They look a little strange, but give lots of grip on 4.5v track and 9v track. Derek (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My First Train MOC

(...) Thanks. I built it not to match any particular prototype, but I think it has the flavor of this little 25-ton GE switcher (though I must say I found the picture after building the loco): (URL) need some additional parts to add detail and (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My First Train MOC

(...) It doesn't looks like anything real (to me), but it's very cute. I think it's a great fantasy switcher. The only thing I don't like about it is the white down near the running gear. Black or dark grey seems more appropriate, though I'm (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Train MOC

To me it reminds me of a shortened (majorly!) SD80MAC/SD90MAC. Here are 2 pics for a simple compairison: SD80MAC: (URL) little inset under the raised walkway behind the cab set it off! The vents are simular too. Josh (Allways know that SD90MAC!) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.us.michlug, lugnet.trains)

  My First Train MOC

Well, I posted pictures of my first Train MOC to Brickshelf. It's a generic little industrial switcher, made with parts from the Railway Express loco and the Flash Speeder. (URL) be shy, let me have it! All criticism, critiques and comments are (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

(...) No, sleepers are European for ties. Flangless drivers are called "blind" drivers (since they can't "see" where they are going and depend on other drivers to lead them aright), at least in US practice. (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: 0-6-0 Steam Engine

Mighty impressed, congratulations are due. I think i may have to steal that idea for my future narrow gauge tank locos! (built to technic fig scale), at the moment I have been limited to locos with a four wheeled bogie (truck) at the front or back. (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Pics: 0-6-0 Steam Engine

Wow, what a wonderful work! You must be a proud ol'man to have a son with that much talent. That's as good if not better than many AFOL train MOCs. BTW: How come none of us ever built a chain driven train before, or used a combo driver wheels (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: We Did It!

Yeah you did! I can't wait to see the pics! Any idea of how many people were in attendence. I can imagain that a GATs in a large metro area like LA or NY could be 5x what we get in the smaller cities. Although we're all eager to see the pics, take (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Help required

Just a few notes about the playmobil tires. They do fit around the large red wheels. (not the small ones on 7740) Sorry for the confusion. I have fitted them on my 4-4-0 that uses these wheels and they seem to work good. Maybe even to good, now my (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Well, it vaguely resembles just about any "safety cab" road switcher of recent vintage from EMD or GM. But only vaguely as it's pretty short. The radiators (at the back) look slightly more EMDish but not much. (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.us.michlug, lugnet.trains)

  We Did It!

After many, many months of getting people to join in, planning and building, Southern California REALLY DOES HAVE A LEGO TRAIN CLUB!   Re: Pics: 0-6-0 Steam Engine

I'm really quite impressed with this. Now, if it were a 0-8-0, it would probably look more like a "real" loco than my Caribou that is downstairs! Please congratulate your son for the good work.
