  Re: Automobile Carrier

(...) I've never seen one of these. It is hard to get an idea of the scale, how many cars do these things carry? Nice model BTW. Scott A (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Automobile Carrier

(...) I built a car carrier a while ago. I did actually finish it just before I converted my rolling stock from 6- to 8-wide. The 8-wide version would be much bigger, and it would require 1x6 plates, which I don't have. So, I have not built an (...) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Automobile Carrier

I hadn't seen one of these in LEGO, yet, so I wanted to share my latest creation, an automobile carrier. Please share your thoughts and suggestions. (URL) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Pictures from 12/01-12/02 Wilmington MA, Greenberg Show

(...) (URL) some more pics (URL) was something I built almost two years ago. When I was browsing through the NELUG show pics I saw it and was amazed that someone picked up on a design that I worked out so long ago. What's even more wierd is that (...)   Re: Train history for Brickfest 2002

(...) Well I'll probably sound like an ingrate, since George Mason was very gracious to allow BrickFest to be hosted there in the first place, but it would be even nicer if the trains were allowed to stay in the same room for the entire event. I'm (...) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.trains)

  Train history for Brickfest 2002

In the long range planning department... I'm planning on spending more time in the train room for Brickfest 2002. I would like to work with some folks to try and put on a good display of train history. I'd love to set up a huge 12v layout, with both (...)   Re: FYI BricksWest Train Session Descriptions

(...) Hmm, would there be interest in a presentation or display of the various eras of LEGO trains? I have stuff from all but the earliest era, and perhaps someone else could fill that in. Frank (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Connecting 12V Transformer to Track

(...) I just fiddled with it. What actually prevents it from working is not the center tie, but the tubes on the bottom of the grey conductors without pin holes, or the tubes and pin holes on those grey conductors with pin holes. Why is this so, (...) (23 years ago, 7-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Pictures from 12/01-12/02 Wilmington MA, Greenberg Show

I can't take full credit for it. I actually got the idea from another clubs website, but I forget wich one. Right now the inside isn't finished, but I plan on doing some type of retro 20's, art deco interior, as soon as I get some black and white (...)   Re: Connecting 12V Transformer to Track

(...) appears (...) No does NOT work. The grey track is different with the double amount of ties (sleepers). Kind Regards, Ben (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Connecting 12V Transformer to Track

I appreciate the input provided by Jon, Ben, and Frank. All of their input has been helpful. After reading their responses and reviewing the older LEGO literature and brochures I have, I have learned about several different approaches. I would like (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: FYI BricksWest Train Session Descriptions

Thanks for making that point. I am looking for any help I can in putting materials together for this. Please send me URLs or anything you got on any of these topics. Of course, if I use any of your materials I'll give full credit and use it only (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: FYI BricksWest Train Session Descriptions

(...) GAAA...AAAHHH...HHH ... Tell me there will be transcripts available? I'd love to hear some other peoples' perspectives and thoughts on driver wheels, articulation, and piston rod linkages. I can in all certainty claim that that's where 85%+ of (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

  FYI BricksWest Train Session Descriptions

Train Building Techniques - Very briefly we'll review the "standard" construction techniques. Some SNOT design reviews. Motif and striping techniques - decals and color tape. Examine steam engines: driver wheel alternatives, piston rod linkages, and (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Connecting 12V Transformer to Track

(...) I think my 7735 came with conductors with the pin holes, but it did come with a special curved conductor piece with an extra block on the bottom very much like the 5063 power supply rail. Perhaps there was an intermediate stage. I do know that (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

He uses some SNOT design in the windows but I think it better to wait for him to explain the design as I didn't look close enough at it to see how he did it. I just know he did it (...)   Re: Connecting 12V Transformer to Track

(...) There are 3 ways to connect the track with the transformer. - in the blue era (1969 - 1979) there was a special cable with an 2x4 plate that fitted under the electric midle track part. (URL) in the beginning of the the grey era the transfomer (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Connecting 12V Transformer to Track

The connector rail is still available direct from LEGO here in the UK, and no doubt from other countries too. Hopefully this link is valid: (URL) price here is 5.19GBP (~7.35USD) plus s&h. The set number is 5063 if you want to try searching for it (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.trains)
