  Re: Finally...

(...) You could also power a power transistor with it :) That'd take up less room... I'm not too sure as to the best approach. Perhaps a friendly Email to digitrax would get a answer as to possible approaches? James (23 years ago, 24-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Finally...

(...) That's good! For a while there I thought I had no control over my lights. But of course no modeler would put up with that! (...) Yes. But, from what I can glean from the web site, the DN142 is the same size so it will work. I was laying awake (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: any good resources for modern freight builders?

(...) Here's a great site I use alot: (URL) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Finally...

(...) Nope. You can turn the output on/off, but which one of the 2 is selected is dependant on direction (you have 2 discrete outputs, but can only get them on when the motor is going in the right direction, and then you action F0). So, the brakes (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Photos of PNLTC display at GATS

(...) Thanks for the kind words! (Pardon the pun) I actually did all of those. Sorry we didn't get some close-ups of the boat dealership. It had some nice touches, I thought. Large (5 stud tall) anchor on the roof next to the sign; inside: a deal (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.wa)

  Re: Finally...

(...) From what I've read on the digitraxx web site the DN121's lights are NOT controllable. They just come on when the train moves and does auto directioning. (...) That sounds scary... Damn... I wonder what the largest decoder would be that would (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Finally...

(...) DN121's. (...) I'm using the light outputs as functions. I'm _not_ going to come out and say that it is a good idea...the F outputs are rated at 125mA, whereas a stalled lego motor draws ~650mA. So, there IS a risk of burning out the (...) (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

any good resources for modern freight builders?

are there any good resources out there dealing with modern freight trains? Stuff like engines, rolling stock, freight yards, maintanence of way and so on? (23 years ago, 23-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Curator for lugnet.trains

(...) Too much cut and paste, too likely to introduce errors, too labor intensive and no real benefit. It's just *not like* HTML where you upload the exact page you want after checking it out locally. This is particularly true for the front page of (...)   Re: Curator for lugnet.trains

(...) One way to test is to keep a copy in your personal Lugnet area, and test there, maybe even posting a link if you want others to check it out before updating the main page. However for something like the main trains page (or any group's main (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Finally...

(...) I have a couple questions regarding the decoders... Manly in regards to the 'Functions' available. I understand that you have a break van setup that uses these functions? What decoder did you use in that model? Is the DN121 only lights with no (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Curator for lugnet.trains

Well, I gots space trucks! (URL) suggestion for your version is to make them modular. Modular is good :-D Good luck! (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.space)

  Re: Curator for lugnet.trains

(...) My point exactly! New users/readers are confronted with inside jokes masquerading as sloppy editing. Welcome to LUGNET! (...) Do I have to be to make a suggestion? Can you check the TOS for me? If you are inexperienced with FTX, I would (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Curator for lugnet.trains

(...) Note this request... (...) When I got it, there was no link there. I added the (Link?) so that if people have the link they would send it to me. Like I said, it's going to get waxed if I don't get a link for it soon. (...) This is a bit of an (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Curator for lugnet.trains

(...) "Will Chapman’s LEGO® Site (Link??)" "Neat images of the (mumble time period)" mumble? (...) What is your point? What is wrong with my suggestion? (...) Take the lazy path if you wish, I'm sure newcomers will appreciate it. I thought what I (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Curator for lugnet.trains

(...) Such as what? There's nothing missing that wasn't missing when I took it on. I've a mind to remove Will's link if no one comes forth with a correction for it as it's a bit dated. Other than that everything is correct AFAIK. Certainly if you or (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Curator for lugnet.trains

(...) The current page has some missing data. Perhaps you should consider tidying up the existing page, and making changes offline/elsewhere until you have a professional looking effort for the group to consider? Scott A (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains)

need advice on/ideas for the train setup I am working on

I am going to be starting work on a futuristic (but still true to life as far as operations go) freight setup, when my 4561 arrives. The general story is that this is a manufacturing town, making stuff that gets shipped to the freight terminal by (...) (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.space)

Re: Photos of PNLTC display at GATS

(...) I think you're mistaken. Schoolhouse Rock was created specifically by ABC-TV for their Saturday morning cartoon lineup. It was aired exclusively on ABC. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 22-Nov-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.loc.us.wa)
