(...) I love the close ups that you've done. I can see that you'll be finding some great potential for those in the future. Nicholas Allan (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.trains, lugnet.town)

Mike Pics look great! Sorry to here about the light crowd, we had planned on making it up from Charleston, but.........sorry we could not make it. I like the gray covered hopper, I know it was posted before but forgot to comment. Thanx, Mark Millère (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains.org.ncltc)

Re: Ambassador train for the PNLTC layout at LEGOLAND

(...) Ya, I forgot about the UK... If and when they sent a car over we could worry then. As for US/Canada interfacing, not that I am advocating smuggling, mind you, but one COULD just mail it to someone in a border town and have them drive across (...) (...) Thanks SO MUCH for making the pics available quickly. I appreciate it. Looks like a great layout. (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains.org.ncltc)

Re: Pictures from NCLTC Layout at the So. Junction Model Train Show

Great pictures. Man, thats a "buttload" of grey small ladders on that skyscraper, very cool. It took me a few minutes to figure out what the windows were made with. Looks cool. jt In lugnet.trains.org.ncltc, Mike Walsh writes: <snip> (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.trains.org.ncltc)

Re: 8 wide and 62 long!

We plan on setting up a loop at the local coliseum and going around the outer concourse, so no there will be no curves in the layout! That means LEGO has 2 radii ~14" and 1000' :) SteveB (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Pictures from NCLTC Layout at the So. Junction Model Train Show

This weekend the North Carolina LEGO Train Club (NCLTC) displayed our layout at the Southern Jumction Model Train Show. We were a little short handed but all worked out well in the end - our layout was a hit with the crowd, which was unfortunately a (...)   Re: A new GP30

(...) Dan Siskind of the GMLTC came up with the idea of using the pirate's hook. Although there aren't any pics on the net that I'm aware exemplifying Dan's technique, he first used it IIRC on a UP Dash 9 (8 wide:-) that sits in Conan's basement. (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Ambassador train for the PNLTC layout at LEGOLAND

(...) 6 wide does seem best right now for roving rolling stock... (...) This is good unless we have to ship it to the UK or someplace horrid. Being in Canada the groups would have to be instructed on exactly how to fill out a Customs form so as not (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: new pictures

(...) Looks great. Nice hoppers, both original and MOC. And I like the MOC engine also. I wish I had the space to leave a layout set up. And very nice macro's of the minifigs. I am jealous. That is a very nice camera. I might just have to go out and (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.trains, lugnet.town)

  Re: A new GP30

(...) As I said, it works quite well. The major hurdle is that the thinwalls take up quite a bit of height which may make it difficult to get some side details in the right place. (...) Every once in a while I look on BrickBay for them and can't (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A new GP30

(...) Lar, Thanks. I don't know if you remember, but I have been mulling over the idea of doing a GP30 since you suggested it some time ago. (Back when I made my 6 wide SD40-2.) At the time, we had the same discussion about railings too. That was (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: PNLTC's LEGOLAND photo gallery is up (finally)

(...) Ben, That is a fantastic car! I hope you don't mind that I took inspiration from your model to build a whole fleet of convertibles, all slight variations on the same basic design. I posted some building instructions for one model on (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: new pictures

Hi Kevin, Just wanted to say I like your layout. Nice choice for hopper colour - the red ones look very neat! And the definition of the pictures is just great!   Re: A new GP30

I went with those thin technic wheels, they work fine, & really take no technic construction to build them into it, & the fit into the 3x3 space!. I built the ends of my model with plates to get a more appropirate angle to the hoods (works really (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A new GP30

(...) Thanks! This is nice work. As others have said, the rounded cab top is so GP30 characteristic... between that and the humped ventilator you've nailed the look of the engine. Very good use of SNOT and halfstud offset techniques in this model. (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.trains)
