  Re: Where to start

(...) It IS funny that everyone is building SWs. Mine has been on sale since February and I'd refer you to the listing(1) for it which has a WEALTH of prototype info available. Although the listing doesn't mention it, the kit comes with extra parts (...) (23 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Where to start

(...) Hmm... I'm working on a SW1200 currently. My nose is about five studs high as well and it's the only part that I have done as of now. I've noticed that many people work on building similat things all about the same time in this group. I wonder (...) (23 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Where to start

(...) is cute, it seems quite dimunitive, even for a 6 wide (which, as I used to harp, should really be 8wide dimensions, only compressed width wise, but I digress). You have your nose 2 1/3 studs high; I figured mine to be 4 2/3 studs high. That (...) (23 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Where to start

(...) Here is a way to build the ends of the frame: (URL) uses a 1x6 plate with wagon end, 2 2x8 plates, a 2x4 & technic 2x4 (or technic 2x8) plate, and a 4x6 plate. Place at both ends and fill in the middle, and it'll be complete, add the Cab & (...) (23 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Bridge Building Questions

(...) The counterweight should also create a great obstruction to protect from one side. Josh (23 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: MOCs: incl German WWII Railway gun

Congratulations Shaun to another fantastic mastermodel. Fascinating that the gun is motorised also. Do you use the pneumatic pressure as a counterweight for the gun barrel. I wish you could take same pictures of the interior design. I have also a (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

(redirected to .trains because I think it's on topic, and I don't bother in .fun anymore:-( ) (...) LOL Hey Lar, he gave you more credit than you deserve;-) (...) I go back and forth. My initial box cars did indeed. Then I decided that I *didn't* (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Where to start

(...) For one style of frame construction, take a look at the last picture on this page: (URL) course that isn't a very complex construction, but it does the job without using a wagon plate. My yellow and black loco uses a built up frame in the (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Bridge Building Questions

(...) The GMLTC had a bascule bridge on our last layout: (URL) is a vertical lift bridge behind it, but that one didn't work very well... :-( ) I don't have a picture of the bascule in the 'up' position, but I can explain it pretty easily. Pivot (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Where to start

(...) ......... (...) ...... (...) Can you direct me to any sites that show subframes construction. These details are not easy to see in most model pictures Lester (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: S@H Trains

Re: Home layouts (Re: Huge layout)

I hope you get around to building it too! This is a great layout. It's rather difficult to create a large layout, doubly difficult to make it interesting (and not just look like a double loop). I always find it particularly diffucult to resist the (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  LEGO Train Contest Results

Has anyone heard who won the train building contest as of yet? -Harvey (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Where to start

(...) The wagon plate is supposedly warped. I didn't buy any of these, wagon plates are for wimps who can't build proper subframes for themselves, so I can't say, but I digress. That is, if you set it down on a flat, true surface, one corner sits (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Where to start

Re: I've taken up the gauntlet (Dora in the planning stages)

(...) Oh boy! this gun will be incredible to build! I've decided upon light gray and black as the colors for this. The barrel alone I've calculated to be 120 bricks long!, I feel a brainstorm descending upon me here. Help! Somebody (...) (23 years ago, 1-May-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Something for everyone at the South Coast LegoFest - SCLF 2001

Guys, *guys*.... please keep this out of all the theme groups. I for one don't enjoy wading thru tons of un-castle-related posts. Even the way-back post, was about SW, and this is posted in every theme group *but* .sw!!
