  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

(...) The Disney line-up, arriving in July, will cover Mickey, Minnie and Friends. Although it uses SYSTEM/FABULAND elements, it is being marketed, at least in the US, as DUPLO. Older kids don't go for Mickey & Friends. And while Disney does have (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Haunted Houses- I need graphics

Um, here's a lot of ideas from last year's halloween design contest (URL) "Horror" section's 2nd entry is a haunted house by Robert Phillip (...) -- dave (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.castle)

Re: Haunted Houses- I need graphics

(...) As I remeber, the halloween contest had some very well thought out entries, try visiting their site. The address escapes me now, but there is a link on craig's page. -John Rudy (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.castle)

  Haunted Houses- I need graphics

Hello, My name is Alex Farlie. I DO NOT WORK FOR TLG/TLC. I am however working on developing a haunted house concept to send to them. I am preparing a Director presentation to show off the idea. Problem is I need graphics-Preferably JPG. (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

(...) There is also the full range of Disney properties to negotiate and license... (Shudder!) Lego has not yet done a superheroes line. (Hmm.. please bring out a bullet train for Superman to pick up..) I wonder if some kind of cyber-themed clone of (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

(...) Why don't you think they will do indian/persian/etc or Greco Roman? Also what about an oriental theme? They could do that (Oh wait a minute, they already did. it was called ninja and it sucked). -- Jonathan Wilson wilsonj@xoommail.com (URL) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

(...) It actually all has to do with the market. The US City Centre range is 21 sets, and S@H still carries many discontinued models, bringing the total to over 30, probably because of lack of sales. The US train range continues with 11 sets, plus (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Lego town set that never made the cut!

(...) I assume that you are refering to the wheels that were also used (without tyres) on the pirate cannon bases? -- Jonathan Wilson wilsonj@xoommail.com (URL) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Belville parts in town buildings - Silly? No!

Brad Hamilton wrote in message ... (...) When I left my previous job I got a chocolate cake with a Belville set on it. Not sure of the set number but it was the one with the girl on the beach scene. Looked quite cool, but I was careful to remove it (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.belville, lugnet.town)

Re: Lego town set that never made the cut!

Let's not forget, they also made those wheels in white, and I love those wheels! They are one of the hallmarks of the era, when all the really nice sets came out. The wheels they introduced in the late '80s that snap on were ok. The nice thing was (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: I just don't understand people on eBay...

(...) Excuse me, but I am NOT doing the same thing. I was not prepared to pay a ridiculous price for a Lego. I think, for as neat and as old as this set is, I thought $50 was a great price. That is what I was willing to pay. And I didn't get it (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

(...) There may be truth in that but it does not explain why kids immediatley start building things they see in everyday life. It seems that someone, somewhere in Lego has taken advice that only trendy product lines will sell. Yes, kids (and the (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Rubber brick!

(...) I won a bag full of Lego items recently and I received a "blue" rubber brick. It's just a novelty eraser. David Williams dwilliams@perthmail.com (URL) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

(...) Sanjay, Here is a wishful thought! Maybe, just maybe they are going to bring back the "glory days" of our beloved line. 50 sets of pure construction with the return of the garage door and 4 new houses! Mike (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Incredible Shrinking Disease

I suspect that town sets don't appeal to children as much as some of the other "trendy" product lines like Star Wars. Town is probably seen as "booring." Kids want what they see on TV. I remember the early 90's catalogs when they had tons of town (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Lego town set that never made the cut!

(...) Brendan, I meant the NON variety of wheels! They look great on trucks and tractor trailers but thats about it (2148,3442, colorline etc.). I wish that they would get back into the car wheels like what is on the 6655,6634,6694 ect. The wheel (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: I just don't understand people on eBay...

(...) I wound up in a bidding war for one auction, and it turned out the other guy only really had to have the instructions!!! So after I won I sold him the instructions (dupes to me) for $15. Ugh. (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

  Incredible Shrinking Disease

I finally got a copy of the 2000 LEGO Catalogue over the weekend, and in need of a good laugh checked out the City Center (Town) section. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but is the range slowly but surely decreasing? I'd say there are (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: I just don't understand people on eBay...

(...) $51. (...) <nitpick mode> See? That's exactly what happens on eBay. People don't realize they might find another one of these sets later... You're complaining about this while you are actually doing the same thing... </nitpick mode> (Not to be (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)
