    Once Again, Legoville... —Jonas Marcho
I'm sure that quite a few of you fellow adult fans of Lego were eager to see how Legoville turned out, but looking over it this morning, it seems to me as if my 'Town' has turned into a 'Town, Jr'. Why? As it would appear, I have no sense of modern (...) (24 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Once Again, Legoville... —Will Hess
Check out these websites for some architectural inspiration: (URL) will have to scale these down of course but the ideas are there for the taking. You might also check out the instruction scans on www.brickshelf.com. Easiest way to do this would be (...) (24 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

(...) First of all, Jonas, don't despair. This is a learning process! The gret thing with Lego is that you can undo and rebuild so easily. Here's some ideas of where the problems you're having might be coming from... You may be trying to make your (...) (24 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

(...) Well, depending on how much of a purist you are, you could use stickers (yes, I said the S word). I'm not certain, but I think that you should be able to find some at either model or train shops. I've not really had the chance to look around (...) (24 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Once Again, Legoville... —Jonas Marcho
Legoville has a lot of custom made signs, but they don't stick very well because all I use is typing paper and rubber cement. I want to get sticker paper, but where the @$%*! do I get that? (24 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Once Again, Legoville... —Kya Morden
(...) Well, I don't know if they still make it, but we did sell some at Computer City way back in '97 when it was still a Computer City. (I know, it's helps alot.) Dumb quote of the day "That'll be Sixty-Sixty, a three hour long special 20/20." -Me (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

(...) Hmm...Office Max perhasp? I'm thinking computer stores and office supply stores. Maybe if you can stumble across them, arts and crafts or school supply stores could be a possiblity. (Hobby/Train stores?) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Once Again, Legoville... —Jonas Marcho
One option I've come across is this really expensive paper that people use to print bumper stickers on. It's ultra-glossy and water-proof. The catch is that the ink has to dry under light for twenty-four hours, AND the paper is very expensive, (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

(...) Ge me your legos? ^_- Anyway, joking aside here, take a look around the web of course. Another place for inspiration is outside, yes, that's right, take a look around your town. Another thing you could do is cross themes? A couple things I (...) (24 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Once Again, Legoville... —Jonas Marcho
I've toyed around with the idea of making a hybrid city, but it just doesn't stick. I'm a Town fanatic, and I doubt that will ever change. Besides, how do you intergrate Space Port and Space? The two themes are generations apart! (24 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Once Again, Legoville... —Kya Morden
(...) Well, I wouldn't integrate space port and space. Although I have been known to shoot down a few Space Police I Mission Commanders over the town and well...destroy a few buildings. Anyway, what I had in mind was more along the lines of Town (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Once Again, Legoville... —Paul Davidson
One way to get rid of boxiness and conformity might be to make your buildings a bit bigger, and model them after real-world buildings or pictures of buildings that have some character. These could be town halls, churches, strip malls, or whatever (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)

Your second city looks a lot better than the first. I think you are on the right track. I have some alternate suggestions that I don't think have been posted yet.    After Josh, my drunken friend, got sober, I made him assist me in washing every peice of Lego in the town. That's the way to do it, you know. (24 years ago, 29-Feb-00, to lugnet.town)
