On the other hand, I was noticing something on the back of the boxes of the
Jack Stone sets: a graphic showing the assembled toy being dropped out of the
hand of a child. The point being that the assembled toy doesn't bust into its
components when it hits the floor. I would think a Lego toy that doesn't break
when it's handled roughly has some value for parents and children. Some part of
the market may have avoided a construction toy like Lego on the basis that it's
too fragile, well, here's Jack Stone to prove them wrong.
Lego separated the cost of shipping in the Shop at Home catalog, if I remember
correctly, so that the price of the individual items could be compared to other
sources more easily.
The new Technic Bionicle sets appeal to me much more than the CyberSlam
ones did, I would dispute their characterization as juniorized. There is
already some Technic from a few years ago in the Classics line (not illustrated
in the catalog).
The Guarded Inn reissue was the July surprise and has just appeared in the
catalog. The Metroliner and Club Car are the August surprise, so I wouldn't
look for them in the same catalog that introduced the Guarded Inn reissue.

| (...) Not only that, but it works out so that if you buy a lot of sets (if you're an AFOL with expendable cash for example!) you're saving money with lego's new shipping policy. -Shiri (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.town)
