I recently built mine and have been wondering about adding a motor too.
I've thought of adding the motor unit found on the 8279/5121 but it looks as
if it would mean removing the external steering wheel and column outside the
cab and readjusting the 1x10 rack plate behind the seats set higher. There
could be enough space for the unit to sit in the back without interfering
with the doors opening/closing. Additional gears or extension of the axles
from the transmission do look likely. I haven't done a try yet,
fortunately, it's a three day weekend in the US.
Anyone else try this?
