  Re: 8880 Pleasure.....

Yep. The 8880 is a truly awesome set. I just wish I could find some replacement parts to fix mine : ( Whatever you do, don't let those ultra-rare suspension parts out of your sight ! The only way to get more is to buy another supercar, since parting (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.technic)

The CV's on a car are a little more complicated but work pretty much the same way as the LEGO(R) ones. BTW, CV stands for constant velocity. (...)   8002 Droid Amendment book, here's how to keep your head on :)

There was a discussion about a month ago on addendums to the 8002 Droid instruction book. I got a second copy of 8002 Droid today, and inside I found an amendment book. It is Part # 4131258. On the cover is labeled "Amendment sheets for improved (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: 8880 Pleasure.....

(...) The 8880 is definitely one of the great sets, apart from the chain. I agree that the chain slips (quite often I find) but my main objection to the chain is simply my feeling that it should not be there at all. How many cars really have a chain (...)   Re: 8479 Barcode Multiset No Longer Available

  Re: 8880 Pleasure...

(...) Yeah I also like this model. The only probably I had with the drivetrain is that it's hard to motorize, but other than that it is quite innovative. I think it's time for TLC to do a mobile crane with a 3-piece boom. I've been at it for a few weeks now (okay, I'm quite ambitious: I want the boom to get 1meter high) and it's hard to get it all right. Anyway, this would be the functions (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

I think it's time for a motor grader! Future 8455?

Hello Lego Technic fans. Since the 1997 front end loader (8459), lego hasn't offered a large construction technic set. I think it would be a good idea to make a motor grader: 1) Pneumatic blade control 2) 4 or all wheels drive 3) powerfull engine 4) (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

Cool! That's an impressive machine! I was actually thinking about using 2x2 8t gears, but I don't have the room in my model (And I've run out of racks too). My model (link below) uses elevators with a double rack and double drive axles (four z8 pinions). I have tested it with a payload of 36lbs (more than enough for a complete scale-size Saturn V). By my calculations, thats 40N per elevator. The rubber (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jan-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic)
