  Re: New Parts

(...) <<snip>> (...) Could that be achieved with the 1 x 4 rack and some hinges? Of course it wont be perfectly round but perhaps the racks could be mounted with a center pivot point so that they connect with the gear never the less? Would probably (...)   Re: DETAILS: 8011 Jango Fett & 8012 Super Battle Droid

Hey man thanks for the joint pics!! Those joints remind me alot of the Alpha Team arm-thingies. Those are going to be fun to tinker with!! As for you getting those sets, you are one lucky guy. I work at Wal-mart and got busted snooping through the (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Orrery gear train

Hi Don, If your gear train does not require too much torque, you could try using two rubber wheels as bevel gears. By having one tire ride on the face of the other wheel, you can get any fractional ratio you want. I've once seen a car in a museum (...) (23 years ago, 4-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: MOC: crawler crane

(...) Hmmmm. I'm not sure - I thought twice about even posting to .technic, as there's no motors or anything, and it's definitely not "technic scale". Does it really qualify as technic?? ROSCO (23 years ago, 4-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Parts

(...) Hey, wow, are you really pleased with the Taig? How's the precision? Microproto advertises .0005 repeatability now. Other makers of micro-mills are Roland, Light Machines, Emco-Mayer, Enco, but I am not aware of one as inexpensive and (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: MOC: crawler crane

(...) Ah, stole my idea! I was going for the same design (next)! But HA, I built one smaller, although it isn't as strong...! I was thinking of a bigger one next... But mine is starting out red... My smaller Crawler (HA a rhyme): (URL) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.town, lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Parts

Just in case anyone is interested, The little machine is a desktop milling machine supplied by Microproto. They buy the basic mill from Taig and add all the motors, controllers and software. I am buying sheet stock ABS and ABS/PVC from McMaster, (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: It's not fair

(...) There are various stratergy's a dodgy roofer might employ. He may try and charge for you fixing somthing he broke himself. or for somthing that isn't broke that he hasn't actually fixed. or for somthing that was broke but that he hasn't fixed. (...)   Re: New Parts

(...) I've thought of another part: curved beams. Take a beam (traditional or studless) and bend it about an axis perpendicular to its length. For example, you could have two different radii so that curved train track could be supported under both (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: It's not fair

(...) 1) What is a roofer? *remembers dictionary.com* "One who lays or repairs roofs." Hm, you had a roofer come to visit or did you have to fix what a roofer failed to fix? 2) What wrong thread? (...) What votes? I can't see any votes for Steve (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Orrery gear train

(...) I wondered as I was working out my own table if someone hadn't already done it! Very useful (it needs an addendum to include the 56-tooth turntable) He uses old 14-tooth bevel gears back-to-back in several trains. I'm having to make do without (...)   Re: MOC: crawler crane

(...) Instead of T.J's largest crane competition, we could have a smallest crane competition. I might have to follow up my bulldozer with a crane compatible in size.   MOC: crawler crane

Hi all, As Dennis, Jennifer, T.J. and others have the big technic crane scene pretty much sown up, I decided to go in the other direction, and bring a fully functioning crane to the minifig scale, for all those large town lifting jobs. So here it (...) (23 years ago, 3-Apr-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.town, lugnet.technic) !
