Re: DETAILS: 8011 Jango Fett & 8012 Super Battle Droid

(...) I think you'll find many uses once you know the part actually exists and you own a few. Truthfully, I've only come across a few times when I've thought that a 1x2 liftarm would be useful. But now that I have a few of them, I'm using them all (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Parts

Well, I guess I'll jump in now and present my list of wants: A decent socket for the towballs. I think the towball is an under-utilized part because there's a lack of decent parts with socket receptacles. For example, take the end of this part: (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: DETAILS: 8011 Jango Fett & 8012 Super Battle Droid

(...) A project I'm working on could sure use them to decrease bulk a tad, but that would restrain my budget. It's too early in the building stage to know if I'll keep the design as is or totally rebuild it. Other than this time I don't remember me (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Parts

(...) Why? The modification (i.e. the "fudged" part) works as desired and I'm definitely going to try it (thanks John). I don't have a Lego purist attitude (i.e. "I won't play with any part unless it's just as Lego made it") and I'm not going to (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  RE: New Parts

(...) Its already there, as ... (...) ... they already do! Been there, done that! :-) William (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  RE: New Parts

(...) To (...) This would come in handy, if there is room I tend to use a #3 axle and two half bushings but it's not always possible. And quite often unsightly, especially on digger/excavator boom arms. William (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: DETAILS: 8011 Jango Fett & 8012 Super Battle Droid

(...) They're also in 8010 Darth Vader. A 1x2 liftarm is part I've been wanting for a long time. I'm really happy that there are an abundance of them in the new sets. (...) They're better (in some respects) than an ordinary ball-n-socket because (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: DETAILS: 8011 Jango Fett & 8012 Super Battle Droid

(...) The new #2 liftarms seems nice, I know they're in R2D2 aswell. (...) Some other bloke also mentioned this to lugnet.build.mecha but I find your information a lot better e.g. how though they are etc.. Compared to the Bionicle joints how though (...)   Re: New Parts

(...) If you press a piece that fits a minifig's hand inside the 3/4 pin it becomes slightly less "wobbly". Seems to work better with other pins though. (...) This would come in handy, if there is room I tend to use a #3 axle and two half bushings (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Parts

(...) I said "most times" :) I guess you can't put an half bushing between the frame and wheel thus making the drive axles one stud wider in total, the axles could meet half-way in the beams. (...) Personally I'd cut a #10 since I own more of these (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  RE: New Parts

Ah, but you were asking for parts we want not fudges we can achieve! I want the ridge intact in the correct place! I can make 7U axles as well!   Re: New Parts

This is any easy one, the only tool you need is a pair of little electronics type diagonal cutters like Radio Shack sell for about $5 I think - red plastic coated handles made from die cut sheet metal. You can use them to nip the ridge off from (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

DETAILS: 8011 Jango Fett & 8012 Super Battle Droid

I made a quick trip to Wal-Mart last night[1] and discovered all the new 2002 SW sets (except for the Yoda sculpture). Here are pictures of the parts and a few close up shots: 8011 Jango Fett $30: (URL) Super Battle Droid $35: (URL) haven't had time (...)   RE: New Parts

Now two parts I *would* pay for A black friction version of the 3/4 dark grey pin. If you attach a half width studless beam/liftarm to a full width beam with two of the dark grey ones it more often than not wobbles too much - I want a nice tight (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  RE: New Parts

I agree - but then ... Check out my variation of Jennifer's Bobcat at (URL) and if you look closely at "...squeeze.jpg" you'll see that the rear axle on the left protrudes slightly - that's because it really needs to be a 7U one - The same is also (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Parts

Yeah, Roboslizonicles are a great source of supply of "raw" material ;) The part you describe yields a ball with a short length of cross axle attached from the other end when you chop it up as well. With some of these highly specialised parts, I try (...) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Most times an #4 connected with a #3 or a #5 and #2 works but it could be nice sometimes, yes. /Tobbe (URL) (23 years ago, 2-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)
