The new #2 liftarms seems nice, I know they're in R2D2 aswell.

They're also in 8010 Darth Vader. A 1x2 liftarm is part I've been wanting
for a long time. I'm really happy that there are an abundance of them in the
new sets.

A project I'm working on could sure use them to decrease bulk a tad,
but that would restrain my budget. It's too early in the building
stage to know if I'll keep the design as is or totally rebuild it.

Other than this time I don't remember me thinking a 1x2 liftarm would
come in handy. But then, I tend to build big :)

Some other bloke also mentioned this to lugnet.build.mecha but I find
your information a lot better e.g. how though they are etc.. Compared
to the Bionicle joints how though are they?

They're better (in some respects) than an ordinary ball-n-socket because
they have "click-stops". This helps to restrain movement so that the joint
holds its shape.

Sounds good.

Looks like it's an ordinary friction pin that holds it rotary-wise
though, could prove to weak.

No. The rotation is also "clickable" which means it holds its shape quite well.

Okay, now you really caught my attention!

I think I'll have to grab one of these when I spot it :)

Yes, do that! You won't be disappointed.

And if I'm disappointed you'll refund me - yes? j/k

They were just sitting there all cluttered together without any prices. I
began jumping up and grabbing a few sets to look at them. I felt like I was
playing basketball, taking "jump shots" to retrive the sets. I attracted a
few kids who were interested and passed the sets to them. We all had a great
time!

Now that must have been a sight! :)

Yes it was! At one point I pulled down too many boxes and it was "raining"
SW Lego sets!

Sounds so close to my vision of heaven!

Actually my dream is if you could buy LEGO pieces by weight, just
scoop them up in a bag and then pay per kilo. Just like in candy
stores.

Imagine hand picking beams, gears, 1x2 liftarms and joints all in a
bag and only pay for the parts you actually want/need...
