  RE: New Parts

An "inverted tile" please - ie one with studs on the top and filled in on the bottom (so I can add "skid pans" to the bottom of vehicles. Black and dark grey (at least but I can also think of reasons for all the other colours that standard tiles (...) (23 years ago, 1-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  RE: New Parts

A quick hack might be to just glue the exisiting plate parts back to back. That gets you a two-plate stud reverser. The other route is to eliminate the ridge at the bottom of the two plates before you glue them together. I THINK this leaves enough (...) (23 years ago, 1-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Parts

:) How thick would the center section need to be - one plate (1/3 brick)? Zero is hard - it'd be just a handful of little double length studs ;) So assuming you want some plate thinckness pieces, what size and color and how many do you need? JB (...) (23 years ago, 1-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New Parts

(...) Including non Technic?? Me, I've always pined for an easy way to reverse stud polarity. The Megablocks double sided (studs on both sides) plate is a great way to do it in minimal thickness. (23 years ago, 1-Apr-02, to lugnet.technic)

  New Parts

I'm sure I'm not the only one who sometimes wishes for certain parts that TLC don't make .... yet. So, in hopes that it might inspire some Lego design engineer somewhere to go ahead and just make a few, I've decided to maintain a list of such items (...)   Re: Need Instruction Scans - Trike Buggy (set 1257 or 3000)

Great list - but you did include a Roborider - #8004 Dirt Bike :D Here's a few to add: 393 Norton Motorcycle (1976) 394 Harley-Davidson 1000cc (1976) (above two not really Technic, but way cool as LEGO model sets go) 8240 Slammer Stunt Bike (ok, (...) (23 years ago, 31-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) Glad you do :) (...) Like I said, it's no work to keep it so it'll stick around a while. (...) If I have a what-now? (...) I got my 8479 entry motorized and ready to go .) /Tobbe (URL) (23 years ago, 31-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) Yes, I know you want the motor addition :) But as I explained the amount of classes would be too great IMHO. Besdides, it appears every single set with wheels can be turned into a puller with a little imagination. /Tobbe (URL) (23 years ago, 31-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Worm gear box

I've added 5 more weight classes to my Lego Contest.

Lego Maniacs: I've added 5 more weight classes to my Lego Contest. RC is also allowed if you are using parts from John Barnes. (URL) - Lego Links (URL) - Home Page (URL) - Maximum Lift Ratio Sincerely, Todd A. Schroeder (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) Well, I like it! 8?) But I thing SSPP is one of those contests that can just keep simmering along - maybe if you have a form email inviting entries, with the current overall leader, and post it here every month or so. I don't think you should (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

Tobbe: I like your challenge since every competitor would have the same bricks to choose from from within each set. I would change only 1 thing...to allow a Technic motor to be added. It would be really interesting to see who could get the most pull (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) Todd's competition also incorporates few pieces in the lower classes. My humble first tryout uses less then 50 pieces I think. Honestly, making a vehicle that pulls a weight is not a lot of work. I think I could do a rough MOC in say one to (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) Well, like I said, most motorized sets do have enough gears to make the wheels slip so it'll all be a question of getting the parts (max weight) in there and make them press down on the wheels. (...) Hmmmm... (...) I had plans for an (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

(...) I really like the SSPP idea. It allows people who don't have a big collection the ability to compete on a level playing field. I have a couple of ideas on what I want to do, but right now it's a time issue. Between work and kids, I have just (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: SSPP: To keep or not?

Tobbe, I think the SSPP contest is great, but perhaps not attractive to some people. It's a great challenge to make anything capable of pulling weight, but it is very limiting. I think it's more attractive to have a contest that would result in a (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.technic)
