Re: Dark Onua-Lord of the Night

That's pretty cool Dave! I especially like the jet pack. Whatever those pieces are called, they make for great wings/general body enlarging parts ( I hope you know which ones I'm talking about - they are hard to describe). I wish I had more of them. (...)   Re: crazy kids

Wal-Mart seems to be worse than any other store for opened packages, but it just has a bad vibe. I try not to go there in the daylight when it is particularly busy. A brief check of the Kanohi boxes I have lying around seem to show that the US boxes (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: Special project

Thanks Benjamin, I appreciate the input. The #3 pieces (if that's what you mean) come in several different colors. I have black, beige and white. I don't know if they come in other colors or not. I've used all the ones I have to make hands and I (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Dark Onua-Lord of the Night

Feeling truely inspired by Mark Chan's Super Toa- (URL) I decided to tackle the one I didn't see: Onua. Oddly enough, I had the prototype jetpack built months before Onua was even available. I had no idea it would become part of this creation. The (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  Re: crazy kids

(...) I've only ever found 1 of the UK foil packet versions opened, and I don't believe for a minute that kids over here are any less hooligan than kids in the USA! Maybe you can't subtly rip them open like you can with a box. As a side line, I want (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Alternate ramp raise/lower mechanism for 8680

(...) To be honest the 8680 set does nothing for me, it seem's to have very little purpose, bur if your serious about building a snow mobile I'd be very interested. Would it be full tracked, half track (like my G.I.JOE one) or tracked-articulated (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

question about flex system service pack 5118

what parts come in this pack? what lengths are the cables? what lengths are the tubes? what parts are the connectors? (use the descriptions on this page: (URL) looks like there are 10 of the cable link 95 and 2 of something else either the cable (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Cool New Desktop Toa

(...) Yes, go to the end. (...) To get a new mask you need to click the symbols in order. The top symbol (fallen over peace sign) is #1, moving clockwise there is a circle with a dot just inside the bottom of it, this is #2, the next is a circle (...)   Re: Special project

Yeah, the Pit Droid hands are way hip. When I picked up a copy of him a few weeks ago my friend shouted "He has such awesome hands!" before I even bothered to open him. Sure enough, she was right! (what other colors do those pieces in the hands come (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

  crazy kids

I just picked up two more packages of Kanohi from a local Wal Mart. Every single pack had been opened partially by hooligan kids (I mentioned this to an employee after I helped a woman pick out Toa for a gift and she just sighed and said "Kids are (...)   Re: which year?

(...) That's a tough call for me. There was a "break", so to speak, when Technic sets went to market in Europe before North America(USA), well, most of the time. I'd have to go by decade starting with the 80's. IMHO, 1981 was an excellent year in (...) (23 years ago, 3-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Alternate ramp raise/lower mechanism for 8680

(...) I'd really like to see what you came up to. (...) Allow me a suggestion: walking legs (no kidding!). you could try a mechanism similar to the one portrayed in the 1990 Technic Idea Book (don't remember the set #). There would have to be (...)   Alternate ramp raise/lower mechanism for 8680

I've cobbled an alternate mechanism which raises and lowers the ramp of the 8680 main model. The standard one takes up too much room inside! After all, this is a cargo sled, so internal volume shouldn't be wasted if it can be done another way. Let (...) (23 years ago, 3-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: McDonalds Bionicle - questions

Re: I am stuck in the online game.....

Two other things I just noticed: 1) If you go back and talk to the rock guy in the tunnel after you are done, he breaks through the rock and starts the whole thing over again (though your reward is still in inventory), so it is either a bug or a way (...)   Re: I am stuck in the online game.....

Here it is again (though the whole flute thing seems as buggy and unpredictable as the infected ball problem): 1) Face the main tree landing (you will see a circular dais and three huts in front of you, three more huts to the left, and another (...)   McDonalds Bionicle - questions

For some reason I just adore the McDonalds Bionicle sets. They're so charmingly antropomorphic. They please me a lot more than the smallest "on-the-shelf" Bionicle sets (such as 8541 Matau, although I'll probably wind up buying them as well (...)
