Yeah, the Pit Droid hands are way hip. When I picked up a copy of him a few
weeks ago my friend shouted "He has such awesome hands!" before I even
bothered to open him. Sure enough, she was right!
(what other colors do those pieces in the hands come in?... 32291 I believe)

I did exactly what you suggested, lumped Pohatu and the Pit Droid together
and saw what I could come up with. He looks quite like a gorilla with those
giant hands and the relatively short and stout legs I gave him. I like it. I
also made a shield out of the bits that make up the Pit Droid's head but no
weapon. I wanted a big hammer, but neither of them have parts that lend
themselves to this purpose. Oh well, he could use those massive hands of his
to smash things anyway.

What exactly is this "Super Saturday" program? What sorts of other things
have been done in the past? I really enjoy seeing kids so hyped up about
these Bionicle guys, maybe while they're in the aisle they'll also pick up
an interest in "real LEGO".

Make some animals. I like them anyway, so grade schoolers must too. I'd love
to see a pack of some of the normal animals of Mata Nui... those cows and
birds from Po Koro. The friendly little racing crabs.
Especially the cows.

That and just let the kids decide what to build. After all these sets are
supposed to be encouraging creativity and all.

I guess I really didn't have many real suggestions... oh well

Thanks Benjamin, I appreciate the input. The #3 pieces (if that's what you mean) come in several different colors. I have black, beige and white. I don't know if they come in other colors or not. I've used all the ones I have to make hands and I (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

What I intend to attempt to do is give the kids concepts to work with rather than showing them how to build a particular thing. However, since I'll be working with a "finished" product they'll have something they can take home themselves. In other (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

I'm going to be doing a Super Saturday "class" at the local Jr. High School and I thought I'd share it with you. They want me to show how to modify a Bionicle. I thought for a while about how to do it, and I think the best idea I could come up with (...) (23 years ago, 3-Oct-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)
