Re: Skip Wal-Mart and Amazon; order Akro-Mils catalog

(...) Ah, that's the question, isn't it? Eric Kinsgley posted something that voiced something I had already been thinking- if enough people want them, then NELUG could possibly just place a bulk order and we could divide them amongst ourselves. I (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

Re: Skip Wal-Mart and Amazon; order Akro-Mils catalog

(...) Unfortunately, you can't order individual cabinets from Akro-Mils, you can only order crates of them... it's a retailers' catalogue. I was so excited when I discovered the catalogue on their website that I ordered one and then called them to (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

Skip Wal-Mart and Amazon; order Akro-Mils catalog

I just went to the Akro-Mils website at: (URL) ordered their catalog. You can also download a full-color PDF to browse through using Adobe Acrobat. Interestingly enough, the PDF only features the 23-drawer and 36-drawer cabinets, the same two that (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Source for Akro-Mils cabinets?

(...) After posting I checked a catalog from Akro-Mils that I requested and received last year from the company, it's a glossy four-color affair dated 12/99 in the code at the back, and on the two pages devoted to the storage centers we are talking (...) FUT org.us.nelug Would anyone else be interested in this... (...) If we have enough people interested it might be worth our while looking into this. I know some of the drawer configurations can be hard to come by. I personally don't care about (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Source for Akro-Mils cabinets?

(...) I've noted that with most of the things I've run across when trying to secure volume discounts with a manufacturer, you wind up having to go to the "container" or "half container" level to get a discount that doesn't get eaten by shipping-- (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

I have one of the 18-drawer units from a purchase more than 10 years ago from where I don't remember (the gray of the cabinet was lighter back then), and I have been looking to get some more for the same (...)   Re: Source for Akro-Mils cabinets?

(...) I could use some of these. All of my Akro-Mils drawer units are either the 23-drawer or the 36-all-too-small-to-use variety. I definitely prefer the cabinets with the larger drawer sizes. I currently have a lot of empty small-size drawers, and (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

  Two New Storage Options

Hey Everyone, Since so much has been written recently about Lego storage, I thought I'd spill the beans on some products we'll be offering very soon. The first storage option competes directly with Plano and Akro-Mils, and it's called Slide-N-Lock (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Source for Akro-Mils cabinets?

(...) I specifically need Akro-Mils cabinets, as I already have quite a few and would like to retain compatability. But thanks! eric (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Source for Akro-Mils cabinets?

(...) And the one with all small drawers is nice too, but often too small. (...) Akro-Mils does make these. That's what I'm looking for. (...)   Re: Source for Akro-Mils cabinets?

(...) I know what you mean. The ones with the 3 huge drawers with smaller ones one the side are nice for certain things but often the large drawers are too large. I really like the one with 3 large drawers, 4 medium, 16 small. I just wish they had a (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

(...) Which one exactly are you looking for? If it's this one Wal-Mart usually has this style. (URL) of mine have either come from Wal-Mart or TCS. Eric Kingsley (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

  Source for Akro-Mils cabinets?

Amazon.com seems to be out of most styles of Akro-Mils storage cabinets. Does anyone know a good online source for them, or a source in the Boston area? I specifically need cabinets that have mid-sized drawers. Thanks, eric (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)

Re: IVAR (was a bunch of other stuff: the devil, anti-MS, tolerance, etc.)

Have you asked your IKEA to order it for you. There usually pretty good about getting stuff in. They ordered an IVAR cabinet that I 'needed' for me and guarented I would have it before I moved to an area where the closest IKEA is 4 hours away (in (...) (24 years ago, 25-Jan-01, to lugnet.storage)
