... I love those little storage cabinets you can get at hardware stores, the ones that are designed for nuts & bolts and things. I keep all of my non-rectangular plates & bricks in them: control sticks, 1x1 plates, minifig heads, cylnders, trees, (...) (26 years ago, 9-Oct-98, to lugnet.storage)

(...) Make sure you use the "archival quality" sheet protectors. The other kind can mess up your stuff. I have about four 3" binders full of instructions, catalogs, etc. I have one binder with instructions for basic/freestyle/paradisa/etc., one with (...) (26 years ago, 9-Oct-98, to lugnet.storage)

I use the following: * Large rubbermaid stackable drawers for the big stuff - all of my basic bricks are in one - another serves as my unsorted container - the other two hold several compartment containers described below * Shoe box size containers, (...) (26 years ago, 6-Oct-98, to lugnet.storage)

i hope you dont all look down at me for this... since i was about 12, i migrated my "tub" of legos in to a more organized sort. first i used tupperwares. then at about 14 i made the move to hardware store style cabinets. now i have a formidable row (...) (26 years ago, 6-Oct-98, to lugnet.storage)

I've got to get a better handle on my sorting. I've got 7 Akro Mills containers (about 300 separate compartments), about 30 plastic "shoe boxes", about 30 cardboard shoe boxes, 6 large Technic trays, and about 400 to 500 baggies. Everything is (...) (26 years ago, 6-Oct-98, to lugnet.storage)

For a long time I threw away all of the boxs. A few years ago I started saving them and quickly ran out of room. Within the last year I've reached a compromise with the problem. I currently flatten the boxes and save them that way. I have a problem (...) (26 years ago, 4-Oct-98, to lugnet.storage)

I got the see trough (clear) tackle boxes that open up at one end only they feature many compartments and run between $ 2 and $ 5 a piece. Shallow ones are good for small pieces while the deeper ones are good for the bigger parts (duh) for the (...) (26 years ago, 3-Oct-98, to lugnet.storage)

I, too, use ziploc bags for sorting the axles. I keep all of a particular length in a bag, and all of the bags in a little storage container. (26 years ago, 3-Oct-98, to lugnet.storage)
