Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . . —David Simmons
(...) my (...) I'm actually quite disappointed with the Arctic sets and think they are extremely juniorized. If you look at the large base set, it's composed almost entirely of pre-fab pieces. There are almost no bricks in the set. I may pick up a (...) (25 years ago, 2-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . . —Todd Lehman
(...) That's mainly what's kept me from going hogwild over the new Arctic sets -- seems like a lot of air in the boxes. OTOH, I think 4 of the large pre-fab pieces in the big base are those awesome 4x4x6 concave corridor corners in Gray! (Can anyone (...) (25 years ago, 2-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.town)

Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . . —Brad Hamilton
Yes, Tod, they are. I have the set. Look at the second picture on this link on the first floor of the building ((URL) I used them in my aquarium and you can see them clearly in this shot. I don't agree that those sets are highly juniorized. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . . —Eric Kingsley
(...) That's the one piece in this theme that really interests me. I agree that the boxes seem contain a lot of air which is why I have stayed away for now. I really think those pieces would work great in space themes. I think in quantity they would (...) (25 years ago, 2-Mar-00, to lugnet.town, lugnet.space)

Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . . —John Green
The concave corridor corners you speak of are in the set. If only they had used these pieces to make corridors in the MF, since they're basically the same shape. I've been doing that a lot lately, looking at other Lego lines and thinking "hmmm... I (...) (25 years ago, 2-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . . —Todd Lehman
(...) Wauugghh! Yah, you said it! :-( I saw an MOC the other day which did use these (in white, from old Futuron sets and more reently in a Divers set) and they looked *SO* excellent there. Maybe we'll see a UCS MF with these in gray! (drool) --Todd (25 years ago, 2-Mar-00, to lugnet.town, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . . —Brad Hamilton
I think that LEGO's point is to reduce the piece count to make it easier for children to put together. Actually, I have a love/hate relationship with the juniorized pieces. On the one hand, they do reduce the complexity (bad), but on the other hand, (...) (25 years ago, 3-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

White vs. Gray in SW sets (was Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . .) —Derek Schin
Todd Lehman wrote in message ... (...) This touches on my biggest pet peeve with official SW LEGO that really only got worse in the 2000 sets: WHY ARE ALL OF THE SHIPS THAT SHOULD BE WHITE MADE IN GRAY?!?!?! Ahem. Sorry, I lost it there for a (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: White vs. Gray in SW sets (was Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . .) —Todd Lehman
(...) Great Rant!!! :) I know what you mean! :) OTOH, white and gray actually are the same color. And on the screen, doesn't the MF *look* kinda gray (not white)? I mean, Stormtroopers, now they look white. The MF looks like a sheet of metal-punch (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: And now Blue vs. Gray (was White vs. Gray in SW sets (was Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . .) —John Green
I made a mini-fig scale Tie Bomber with parts from the Vader's Tie/Y set, the Sith infiltrator, Gungan sub, and anakin's pod. It's all gray, with some dark gray. I wanted to make it as much like how the Lego group would make an official one, so the (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) with (...) Actually Vader's TIE was blue/grey like the TIE Bombers. In fact the TIE Bombers in ESB were made using wings from the store bought Vader's TIE model kit that anyone could purchase. (Hence the "store bought." Sorry I didn't want any (...)         Re: White vs. Gray in SW sets (was Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . .) —Michael Perri
(...) The X-wing and Millenium Falcon I thought were both a light grey or an off white. The falcon was a variety of patched up colors. The X-wing had some white in it so I can see your point there. When I heard lego was making an A- wing I was very (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: White vs. Gray in SW sets (was Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . .) —Todd Lehman
(...) Is the brown in the A-wing Fighers actually brown, or is it a kind of "rust" color? Maybe they were trying to approximate rust or brick-red with red...? Hmmmm. --Todd (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: White vs. Gray in SW sets (was Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . .) —Michael Perri
(...) A- (...) I have two different toys of the A-wing and both are either a very dark rust or a brown. It depends on how you look at it. I'm getting tempted to spray paint my A-wing just to see how the right one would look. If lego did use brown (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: White vs. Gray in SW sets (was Re: Feelings over 2000 sets . . .) —Jason Brown
(...) Just my $0.02, I always thought the A-Wing was a darker red with off-white. *shrugs* could just be me... I havn't seen my Action Fleet A-Wing in a while, but I *think* it's color is close to that of the LEGO version, except the red is darker (...) (25 years ago, 7-Mar-00, to lugnet.starwars)
