Just a nitpick, here: why do so many people assert that this is an
incorrect spelling? I expect, Simon, you're being at least partially
facetious, but I've seen people being real sticks-in-the-mud about it.
Regardless of the "real" spelling of saber, Lucasfilms apparently has
decided how they want to spell it:

Besides which, since there's no real-world weapon known as a lightsaber (one
word), I'd say George is free to spell it however he pleases. I mean, come
on! The man came up with JarJar, for heaven's sake! Do we really believe he
cares how people think he ought to name his universe?
