Where on this, or any other earth did you get that many grey bricks?

I'm not sure how many of them came from this spiffy US service pack
(which appears not to be available in Europe- grrrrr):

There aren't any [UK] brick packs with grey bricks at all unless I'm not
paying attention. What would anyone else recommend as a good source of
grey bricks?

Unfortunatly Gray is definitly not as plentiful as may of us Star Wars, Space,
and Castle guys would like.  Unfortunatly I only came out of my Dark Ages at
the begining of this year and missed out on a lot of what Dave lists below
although I did have alot of Classic Space and I now have lots of Star Wars.  In
order to get a quick infusion of Gray fast I did order 50 of the Gray Service
packs that are available in the US.  (Why they don't offer these outside of the
US is a mistery to me)

:)

Where did *I* get my grey bricks? Lots of places:
-Lego castles (about 7 "real" castles, abunch of smaller ones)
-Whole slew of Classic space (lots of grey plates!)
-Some in the UFO & Robo Force sets
-Some in the Islanders sets
-A bunch in the new Star Wars sets
-12 grey service packs

Good currently available sources of grey:
- X-wing fighter
- Sith Infiltrator (lots of grey plates!)
- Snowspeeder
- Wild West Indian sets (I know Eric K has gotten a good amount from these,
too; plus, if you can find 'em, they're often discounted!)

Yah at almost 50% off these sets (mostly 6766 -
http://www.lugnet.com/pause/search/?query=6766)the price was not to bad, quite
a bit of gray including a supprising number of gray tiles.  There is also alot
of great stuff for creating dioramas.  Lots of BURPS - Good for building
Mountains but thats about it -, lots of greenery, and alot of Brown too.  I
don't know what I am going to do with all the Tee-Pees, canoes, Minifigs, and
horses I have now though.  I guess it might be time to figure out how to action
some stuff off.

Finally a not to TLG...  More Drab colors please.  The more Gray, dkGray,
Brown, and Tan you make the more you will sell.  You may not think kids go for
the drab colors but us AFOL's can't get enough of it.

Eric

Another source of grey bricks. It's possible to win eBay auctions for grey brick lots at less than 10 cents a brick. I've done it twice, really helped out my grey situation (also did the same for green). (25 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)
